Fact is, the will of the people elected the Governor and last I checked the Governor decides, overrules the administration of the State Laws... Not the DA's with their own agendas. The State prosecutor whether it be in an overall (Attorney General) or local (District Attorney) have an obligation to enforce the law, not decide what is or isn't law, or acceptable let alone based upon "their" political affiliation. Those Scales of Justice are supposed to be blind. If the Legislature enacts a law, which is then formalized by the Governor's signature, it's too bad if a prosecutor disagrees! Sorry Charlie! The door is the only thing that DA deserves!

I think it's typical that district attorneys sometimes have a bit of discretion regarding how hard they enforce which laws. They only have a finite amount of resources and police and detectives, and Court time. Obviously they have to prioritize certain crimes and deprioritize others.

The district attorney was elected to represent the views of the people of the county. Why don't the people of the county have a right to have their votes respected? If the people of the county want to say deprioritize smoking weed, j-walking, littering and abortions, shouldn't that be there right? Maybe they prefer to focus energy on murder, robbery, burglary and other real crimes. There is just so much time a district attorney can spend working on cases.

Typical delusional reinvention of Govt as a causation of the Liberal Progressive Ideology you are mentally constricted by. A contemporary affliction of a multitude of the masses who reimagine the govt in their own image, only when it serves their purposes.
The Legislature carries the voice of the people... Attorneys, Judges, do not have the power to Legislate from their position(s). They do not make law, and by failing to enforce the law as written, passed and enacted, they then are seizing powers not bestowed upon them.
It's a lost cause to try and argue otherwise and doing so just exposed more of your lack of understanding our form of Gov't. Try as you might, it's a miserable failure to try. Any prosecutor, State AG that enters into this type of Progressivism should dragged from office, tarred and feathered and sent along their way! Period!
