I’m of this viewpoint as well. Just because I print while pumping gas should not be a pretext for an interaction at all, let alone a mini inquisition that runs a good chance of me being arrested if not adequately subservient in my responses.

Even in a state with forced registration like NY, there should be the presumption of innocence, if not visibly engaged in illicit acts.

Remember - NYS Penal Law bans all manner of possession of handguns, and then adds back exemptions. One of those exemptions is for permit holders. They just want the law enforced with a strict reading.

See someone carrying? Assume they've violated the law unless they can prove they're exempt. See someone with tinted front windows? Assume they're in violation of the law unless they can prove they're exempt.

That said, I think it's ALL bullshit.
