So I just went to that site (nysnics.ny.gov) and they don't even have a valid SSL certificate. Most browsers won't even allow the page to load because of that. This is gonna be a real cluster fuck. Got a couple guns on order to process before the 13th and have no plans to (ever) buy ammo in the state again. The hunters start coming out in September to buy new rifles and ammo. They are in for a rude awakening.

While not announced, I am very suspect that the SP will suddenly deem it necessary for a P-12 (form used whenever a Dealer receives in or transfers out a Handgun) to be created for each gun and if you think the State isn't going to keep a record of each and every background check then you're fooling yourself.
Remember: Dealers are to "...submit their records twice a year to the State Police..."

same here 2 pistols coming Wednesday that I've wanted and that's it for me . Food for them will be sent to PA where I can pick it up at my leisure f*ck NY .

State police has already been collecting this info. The FFL has a coupon book and sends a ticket to the state police every time they do a transfer. Never mind pistol permits.

As stated above, this will give them the opportunity to put their thumbs on the scale and arbitrarily slow the process.

Just imagine if chatty Kathy and those of her ilk got their wish of a "gun free" NYS.... guns confiscated from honest citizens, or honest citizens cave and turn in their guns, or honest gun owners just decided fuck it and move out of NYS, or a combination of that mentioned. That would leave no armed honest citizens in NYS. The only ones left would be the good unarmed folks, and the libs, progressives, pussies, whatever. The only ones that would have guns other than the cops, would be the criminals, the hood rats and such. Cities in NYS would become kill zones, and that would move out to the burbs in short order. No one in NYS would be any kind of safe or secure anywhere. It would be like living in cartelville.

Just thinking out loud...

My letter came as an attachment from a FEDERAL email. The state cannot even get the letter out on their own. That bodes really,really well (sarcasm).
