I would love to get my hands on a pair M-60s like I was issued as a helicopter crew chief. As it stands until I win the lottery and move to DSDM land they are unobtainable.

I will go at this somewhat askew of the above requirement because I never wanted a gun that never left the drawing board (why would I want something that does not exist unless fantasizing) and I cannot think of one I want that is so rare there are only a few. I will be a bit more practical and go at this by saying I would love to own a Remington Model 8 in 35 REM. I like the fact one or more were used to terminate the violent criminal careers and worthless lives of Bonnie & Clyde. Other than that, I like the idea of having a semi-auto rifle in 35 REM. While the Remington Model 8 is not extremely rare, they certainly are not easy to find in G-VG condition or better. In fact, on and off, I have been looking for one for several years now. There have been at least a couple to few factors that have prevented me from picking up a decent one. First of all, I have not seen them all that often at gun shows - over the past 8 to 12 years or so. I have seen some of them but most were not in 35 REM. Of the ones I have seen in 35 REM, only about two or three at the most were in acceptable condition, in my opinion. Of course, when I saw them, I did not have enough cash to lay it out then and then. Once I had enough with me but hesitated because it was pretty high priced, well above what I planned to pay, and I never saw that one again (also never saw the same dealer at subsequent shows). In other words, I have never been in the right place at the right time along with the right gun being there concurrently with me while I had a pocket full of cash to readily cover the expense without breaking me. So, that is my unobtainable firearm. I may settle for a Remington Model 81 in the near future if I can get it at a good price.

That might be worth looking into but im talking an original from 1848 which are insanely rare. Only 7,000 were ever made. Some were sent to Europe and the rest to US military. Very, very few survive now.
I have an original third model and a second model that is inoperable.
There are alot of reproductions. I bought a very convincing third model a decade ago.
Thanks for the info Robin, I will contact them, its worth a try.

This is a reissue made by colt. He said it was unfired. he also has an unfired, reissue by colt single action, either army or navy, not sure. Good luck!

Thats a third model, with the round trigger guard. The first and second models have square trigger guards.
The first model was made 1848-1850, the second was 1850-1852 and the third from 1852- 1860.
I wannt a first model, and sinse this was an unobtainable gun thread, id like it unused from 1848, which do not exist.
Oh, and that is a very low ball evaluation. A third in good condition usually sells around the $12,000-$15,000 range.

IDK anything about old handguns. Oh I seen that blunderbuss on pawn stars also lol. What I would like is the old model 10ft. shotgun that hung above the fireplace at old creekside gunshop. Anyone ever see it?
