I have no desire for a civil war. I agree such a scenario will get messier than anyone can imagine.

However, if the guy who pulled my wife's car out of a snowbank wants to outlaw my guns, push transgender nonsense down my kids throats and use government to force me to take deadly vaccines against my will - then we've got a problem.

That's a big stretch though. I mentioned earlier Harris or Trump, (maybe in another thread?) that I didnt vote for either of them becauss I have major gripes with both of them.

Harris - I'm pretty pro 2A and hate her position on firearms, I 100% disagree with all the trans crap, I don't care if you do or don't want a vaccine as long as if you get sick you pay for any care you need yourself. If you get sick where a vaccine would have helped then paying for it is 100% on you - pay up or die.

Trump - broad tarrifs are a bad thing. Targeted tarrifs can make sense. I'm pro choice so I disagree with him there. Similar to vaccine - if you don't want one don't get one, if you do you need to pay for it all, it's not the government's job to pay for you.

I'm generally 100% for personal freedom hence why I'm pro 2a, pro vaccine choice, and pro-choice (abortion).

Each candidate is a "package deal". That person down the street might be voting for someone without supporting the entire package since you can't really separate it apart. They can't say, "oohhh I'll take Trump on that and Harris on this".

It's always the same old story. The Biden Administration demonstrated nothing. Their policies were ineffective to actually detrimental, or failed to have any measurable impact at all, and yet Biden rushed to point out that his Presidency was historical and that his Policies were "just kicking in" and "some would not be measurable for 10 years." Isn't that always the way. Make platitudes and excuses now so that the next Democratic candidate can again rush to point out that the advances made over their opponents term were actually because of the previous administration - REGARDLESS of how long ago that was and how ineffectual they were.

Also amused at the comments about Harris. (Her character is so admirable, she put her whole heart and effort into the campaign.) Really? Don't know about you, but if I were to run for any position, I would be meticulous, clear, and detailed on just exactly how I would bring value, how my proposed policies would benefit people as a whole, and publicly reach out to my critics to find out what their objections or misconceptions were - just for starters. She did none of that. Word salad. Deflection. Failure to answer. Answering questions with questions. If that was her whole heart and effort, I would not trust her to run the McDonalds that the current memes have her serving Trump out of.

One other observation - the lapdog media is slobbering over themselves on how Presidential Biden appeared, and how eloquent he was in this speech. Yeah. Enunciation was terrible - so many slurred words, so many awkward pauses. No doubt he was on point, whether through drugs or days of rest and preparation. But he was on point for a man who should be retired and speaking to a City Council somewhere, not the President of the USA addressing the world.

Clearly the majority of the population has made a collective decision to travel down the more sensible path. Since this landslide election, this public madate, the repudiation of insane leftist policies, the ending scene of Ben-Hur has come to mind. In this scene he speaks of feeling the sword being taken from his hand. I feel much the same way, years of built up venomous enmity has melted away and I actually feel hopeful for the future. There is much to be done and it will not all be accomplished by one man, one administration or in one term. There will be setbacks and the fight will go on but I see the path now, the light at the end of the tunnel.

How will the Dems say: Did you like having more money, lower taxes, cheaper fuel, less expensive groceries, and safe neighborhoods? Well? If you didn't, then vote for us and we'll turn the page back for all Americans.

Success for our nation will be Trump's real revenge.

Please don't be fooled by these county by county maps. While I will agree that urban centers are generally deep blue and the rural areas tend toward the red, there is a sliding scale of purple from blue to red areas. Even living rurally I have noticed some Harris/Walz signs in my AO. Not a lot mind you but they are there. For those who live in more suburban areas I'm sure there is a greater mix of left and right. While it warms the heart to see some suburban Karen/Ken get owned for being a hysterical lunatic, these people are intermixed among us. The last thing we would want is to have an active outing at all. Even in the more rural areas are you ready to jump off with your neighbor down the road, the guy who maybe pulled your wife's car out of a snowbank last winter, over some political affiliation? I am as frosty as the next guy, but I have no desire to see how the civil war/societal collapse compares to the scenarios that we all talk about. I don't want to harm or force my neighbor to flee to the cities anymore than the urban dwelling members here would want to flee their homes to the country. If or when it all goes bad we all will do what we have to do, but I think it will get far messier than we can even imagine.

True - in that all counties have the obvious voter split percentages, but you can look up every single county and what the spread was. Oneida County, with Rome, Utica, New Hartford, even the candy assed Clinton liberal paradise, voted nearly 70/30 Republican. In a very real sense, in civil unrest or even outright hostility, a lot of the problems would solve themselves. I would not choose to mobilize and attack anyone, but anyone attacking me? Zero fucks given. And I'll bet you lunch that the 70% would outgun the 30% by an order of magnitude.

More than anything though, in order for a Civil War to work, people have to be able to identify their friends and enemies. I don't believe our society has the stomach for that. It's one thing to be in an army facing another army wearing conveniently colored uniforms, it's another thing entirely to walk down the street not knowing which HOUSE is not safe to walk past.

As far as blockading the cities? There's plenty of us that would already be fighting to protect our homes, families, and livelihoods that would render that idea almost irrelevant, with the exception of the BIG cities where the blue is so deep that you would be utterly foolish to not clear out beforehand.

If I end your life in a non self defense or forced killing (war), it's murder.

If a doctor ends a fetus it's just a procedure.


It's not that that club of cells is aware, or feels.


It's that not only did you end the pregnancy, it's you've erased everything it will ever become. You gave the mother a choice, but that child will never get to decide anything.

Phazer - this sentence should be engraved on every billboard and display across the country. Absolutely regardless of what peoples moral belief is on abortion, the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade as Federal Overreach and put the responsibility back to the States. Simply the fact that it was such a hot button issue in the Presidential election was ludicrous. The Supreme Court decision made that abundantly clear.

Unfortunately the division on that subject is so deep and bitter that the States are just as incapable of handling it. Nothing will be solved when Whorechul states she is in favor of abortion up to decapitation at birth, and her opponent in two years states they are in favor of a total ban and murder charges for anyone who tries. All or nothing has a 100% chance of failure.

To me it's a matter of bodily control. Similar to being forced to have a vaccine. I don't think anyone should be forced to use their body in a way they don't want to, which includes forcing someone to use their body to sustain another person.

If through some medical application you and I were physically attached and for the next number of months I'd have to remain attached to you to live, do you think the government should force you to keep me attached to you so I could live? My answer to that would be no.


Either way, my main point wasn't to dive into any of these topics deeper, it was more to point out that you can't assume someone's beliefs at an individual belief level by who they voted for. When you vote for a candidate you are voting for a collection of policies, including some you may disagree with. That person may not actually want to take your guns, but they voted for the pro-choice candidate because they were raped 10 years ago and that policy resonates more with them, and heck maybe she wishes she had a gun so she could have blasted the rapist. People are complicated and not everything is black and white.
