Had another thought about this. No, you don't take the guns from people who are dangerous like that. That would be stupid. You'll still have a dangerous lunatic running around who will undoubtedly get dangerous weapons anyway.
You lock him up.
But countrys aren't people. They don't have the same rights.
This idiot is the biggest snake in Congress. He needs to go!Lindsey Spam = War Monger!
Your story mirrors many a Soldier...recruiters aren't as interested in the 26+ crowd (unless they're Professionals that can become Officers) as they are the 17~21 year olds whom they can much easier mold into the desired end product, the 22~25's are failures to launch, mature, get into something meaningful and aren't as apt to accept the bullshit at face value. These are generalizations, and not absolutes.I took a bit of time in responding to these statements. I am not asking for them to be taken back, not looking to make nice or anything.
I would like to speak a bit of my time in service in direct reflection of your comments.
I joined the Army at a younger age. I joined the Army before I was awaken to the truths of the government or my true knowledge of politics. I had learned, in school, about many of our past wars, but the dots were not connect until years later. I was not the realist that I am today.
I joined at the height of Desert Shield, prior to the kick off of Desert Storm. I joined knowing that I was going to war. I was going to war to assist in saving a small, weak country that had just been invaded by a larger, much stronger country. In my youth, I was sickened by what the leader(s) of Iraq had done and felt that it was the job of other nations to save them, free them and protect them.
After the short war, I returned home and went about Active Duty living. For the next few years, there was peace. We trained, we had fun and we assisted the community in may ways. I loved what I did. Left the active component and transferred into the Reserves. Wicked amounts of peacetime in the beginning. I was still not all that into politics and did not really comprehend the sinisterness of the elected in regards to wars. Yep. I was in a bubble and quite naive. I joined for the right reasons, I served with honor and pride.
The broken body and mind that I have now, those things were never discussed. We were never told of the hidden perils that we would all be subjected to. In 1994, I was given Anthrax shots. In 2003, I was given Anthrax shots again, I was given a total of 7 in the series that should have contained only four. At the time, both in 1994 and in 2003, I was never told that the US government was told they should stop using these shots due to the unknown negative symptoms.
I ran many days during organized PT, wearing combat boots, even though a study was done and reported to the Army to cease this practice due to long term effects. This kind of list can continue for pages.
As for this statement of knowing.... how many 17-18 year olds really know?
As for dying in war.... Absolutely knew this was a possibility. I got married 2 days before a deployment in 03 on the off chance I did not make it back. I wanted to ensure, if I made my end, my wife would be taken care. Dying in war is too be expected; depending on what cards the individual was dealt. I am not anti war. Hell, I am actually pro-war if the situation is correct.
I just wanted to put this out here. I was not offended or upset about your comments. I have control over my emotions and my feelings. I do think though, your words were quite wrong and very inappropriate

In the situation we are discussing, there *is no* government. Just a small neighborhood with a few hundred people.
The closest thing we have to a world government is the UN, and that feckless sack of whiny dipshits couldn't run a lemonade stand, let alone deal with Iranian nukes.
So, in a village of just under 200 people (or countries), with no government internal or external, you don't "take the guns away" from the dangerous lunatic who keeps attacking his neighbors and starting shit.
You just kill him.
They knew what they signed up for. No phucks given.

Talking head regurgitating what her Producers told her...ZERO knowledge or credibility.Press hypocrisy in action.
Well said DTK. I`m just old and tired, sometimes i spout off because of what i`ve been through in my life, its hard to give a sh!t about anything anymore. I hate war (for my own undisclosed reasons, there is only one member in here that knows why), and those who use others to profit from it. Some go into it not even knowing the truth of what our own govt does, secretly.Yes. And no. That's a very short sighted and incomplete statement.
Most all young people who enlist, come from good patriotic families. They likely have had at least medicore parenting and perhaps even very strong awesome parenting and a lot of good guidance and influence along the way, hell they are probably even interested in things like history. Maybe they are the type of people that are willing to stand up to a bully or look out for others, they have an inner drive to want to do good and make a difference.
They are impressionable young people with idealist tendencies they join for the fact that they love the idea of what America is, they love America, they want to protect America. They are patriotic.
You're right, in one regard they Absolutely they know there are risks when they enlist. But they also trust. They are patriotic and idealistic. They want to believe that the rulers are people like them. They want to believe that the people making decisions have their same values. See the world the same way. Because after all, why not, America is the good guy right?
Somewhere along the path of wisdom and experience the rose colored glasses fade away and you realize that, actually, we aren't being led by righteous people but selfish greedy power hungry psychopaths. It's an extremely disillusioning reality to have to process when something you felt to your core as being true ends up not being.
So with that being said, to your point, hell no. The young people enlisting absolutely have no idea that their politicians will gladly sacrifice them as cannon fodder for better dividends on their military industrial or natural resource stock investments. When that realization sinks in that's a shitty day.
President Trump is going to need ALOT more prisons!
President Trump is going to need ALOT more prisons!
100% Does for sure!needs to get rid of these turds
I have seen headlines that the cease-fire lasted 12 minutes, I have seen headlines that the "fragile cease-fire is holding"
Just what the hell is going on over there?!
Trump is right, they really don't know what the fuck they are doing over there.
I'm absolutely fine and am in fact desirous of detaching Isreal from our hip.Maybe the time has come to cut certain countries completely off. Tell them that the tax payer tap has run dry.
War is terrible, but sometimes the alternative is worse.Well said DTK. No doubt about it spat, none at all, IF, it`s for the right reasons.War is terrible, but sometimes the alternative is worse.
That’s the initial reports but Trump doesn’t believe it. So do we believe our intelligence people that that were close to a bomb and launching one or that the facility wasn’t destroyed because we can’t have it both ways. I believe Iran was doing what they were saying to make a bomb but were they days or weeks away from having one and launching a strike I don’t know.Sounds like we may have set Iran's nuclear program back a few months.
Good job team!
If that’s true why did we get involved?I have seen headlines that the cease-fire lasted 12 minutes, I have seen headlines that the "fragile cease-fire is holding"
Just what the hell is going on over there?!
Trump is right, they really don't know what the fuck they are doing over there.
What we DO KNOW, for sure, is that the truth will never be known as truth, until we see it with our own eyes. It will be THEIR truth, not, our truth. The government lies to us every day. The best WE can do, is to never believe what they tell us, unless WE see it for ourselves. If Trump doesn`t believe it, and he`s right there seeing things WE don`t get to see, you can bet your ass, something is being hidden from ALL of us, including Trump getting lied to by the government. That’s the initial reports but Trump doesn’t believe it. Now the problem is we brokered this peace deal and if they are only set back months what then? Do we bomb them again in months or weeks? These are initial reports so let’s see where this goes. It will be interesting as usual and Trump doesn’t agree with the reports.
