This was an issue in a New Jersey case some years ago where a conviction was upheld based on a warrantless search of a gun case.

I think it's easier said than done to find a hard-shelled lockable case that doesn't, in any way shape or form, resemble a firearm case.

He is leaving out an important part they still need probable cause just plain view would not justify a search guns are legal, drugs are not so plain view would apply he would still need probable cause evidence of a crime

I don't like fly rod cubes 'cause you can't put anything but rods. A large case however, can store a few rods, reels, extra line and small fly boxes.

Stickers are important. Some Callaway, Lionel or Nikon stickers on the case may help as well. I like the container options that you all have shown as they have realistically affordable price points. Thanks

If you need a 500.00 hard case for a safe queen, leave it at home and use it for when you move locations. lol
Softball bags, gym bags, soft guitar cases are all fine for those tools you are one day planning to use in the apocalypse. If that event happens you won't be committing the safe queen to the fight. You'll be reaching for the tool that got bumped, hit the ground and used in rough weather that you were training in and now trust. Don't dare tell me otherwise.
Also, super market canvas zipper bags that say Stop n Shop, Fresh Mart or other, are great for the range gear needed for the day.

There is no doubt about that, always will be. There is just a lot more of them out there, today, that run around all puffed up just waiting to pounce. We`ve got a couple new young newb`s locally. When they are sitting along side of the road watching people drive through the village, they stare you down like your a criminal. They are stone faced, eyes don`t blink, no sign of happiness on their faces. They just stare you down with anger all over their faces. They won`t even reply back to you when you say good morning or hello. That`s a first sign of one being a phucking prick. I bet when they`re sitting in their dicktatermobile, their finger is on the trigger while they stare at you. I do not trust any of them today. They don`t show signs anymore that they CAN be trusted.

1) Wife and I have a friend who is a hot glass artist, glass blower. She goes to shows with up to 8 hard long rifle gun cases. Awesome product protection.
2) At work (before retirement) the HVAC service technicians use to move pitot tubes for duct velocity measurements, in their service vans in a hard gun case.
3) I have a friend who used an XXL range bag from MidwayUSA for a diaper bag. Better pockets and stronger than most diaper bags. She was a shooter. Her friends laughed at her. Range-diaper bag still in service 20 years later.
4) I repourpose my manufacturer's pistol cases to organize tools in my tool boxes.
5) Pencil holder on my desk is a plasic reloading box for .308 ammo.
All of the above are examples of open minded dual purpose uses of what is perceived to be single use containers.
