NY had the potential but not the motivation. The subjects fear the totalitarian masters. In NY they confiscate cardboard guns.Good for them. This is what happens when you push people too far.

And even that is just talk. After their BS talking they will charge someone if need be just like here.Much like signatures, shirts do nothing ... sheriffs who refuse to enforce now that's a statement.

When will the military and police come out and make an official statement for 2A? I've seen retired vets and some sheriffs, but where are those that are still active duty? It was a while ago, but were there any active military captains or generals in Washington during the attempted ban on the AR15? Where are they now stating over and over that they don't issue AR15's to soldiers? And even that is just talk. After their BS talking they will charge someone if need be just like here.
As I've said over and over, "Police can end this gun control now." If every single cop said, "No." Gun control would become a thing of the past. But they won't. They'll enforce all laws passed.

Yeah but wouldn't it be great if they proactively did what they swore oaths to do?I prefer active duty military and police not make policy statements for civilians but that's just me.
No flame. Actually my thoughts exactly.Yeah but wouldn't it be great if they proactively did what they swore oaths to do?
Aaaaaaaaaaaannnnd here comes the flame, lay it on me!
Yeah, but I know what @BDinPutnam means and I agree they shouldn't make policy at all. I just wish that when it came to core rights, they would step in when legislatures over step. But then again, it would be a very fine line.No flame. Actually my thoughts exactly.

Making an official statement to remind politicians that they are overstepping through press conferences and other media isn't much to ask. I'm not saying they should make the laws, or to storm Washington or a state assembly. I'm saying to stand by their oath and at the very least make some consistent noise. Not much to ask in my opinion.Yeah, but I know what @BDinPutnam means and I agree they shouldn't make policy at all. They could make a vague blanket statement that implies that they will not enforce these laws. Something like:I prefer active duty military and police not make policy statements for civilians but that's just me.
They could make a vague blanket statement that implies that they will not enforce these laws. Something like:
"We are duty bound to refuse to carry out any order that would violate the US constitution"
That would be 100% accurate, Nobody could fault then for it, and it would put the appropriate people on notice.
And even that is just talk. After their BS talking they will charge someone if need be just like here.

So could DAs.
So could voters.
