My guess is that behind the scenes Trump is linking tariffs and the N Korean situation. The Chinese need to put their dog on a leash if they want tariff relief.

I think, in a round about sort of way, you answered @Willjr75 better than I did. Your line about The Chinese keeping their DOG on a leash. This is how I see the Chinese treating Kim. Trump comes in, says a few nice things, tosses out some compliments, and says the two of them have a connection and bam, almost instant trust and respect from Kim.

That sounded to me more like pissed off reporters who were doing angry that their camera shots were getting blocked.
