SIG 320 x5 Legion

Got to handle one of these yesterday. It is quite nice and it is a heavyweight, the polymer frame with the tungsten makes it balance really nice. It comes with 17/ 21 round mags that are nice too but, Serfs can only get the 10 rounders in the PRNY.

I think I am going to build one of these guns soon, that and the M17. I only have one sig in the house right now so it is time to change that a bit.

For those with a current X5, Sig also offers just the grip module for $300. Overall very impressed with this offering.

Yeah I was impressed with the gun I handled the other day. Seems like a good project for me at a later date.

Thats cutting it close with USPSA rules. 45oz limit includes an empty mag and you will have to account for the weight of the optic. The most popular right now is the Leopold delta point pro and they weigh in with battery at 1.95oz. which would put the X5 Legion over 45.

All you have to do is remove the grip weight and you will be good.

Lol well I guess I will be a liar then. I don’t post pics of my gun for plausible deniability reasons. I am working a lot of overtime for the next couple of weeks so, my employer is actually paying for it. LOL

This seems to be the hottest new pistol, I know a few of the IDPA guys at my Club have gotten them! I did hold one and it felt really good in my hand!

I have not been shooting as much but that will change no that summer is over. I have shot a few new pistols lately but nothing of interest.

The bummer thing is that the guy who had most of the pistols that I shot is now concentrating on USPA and not buying new pistols. He was a diehard Glock you but is now competing with Sigs. the X5 will be his new competition pistol.

He competes in carry optics so this looks like a great option. He recently started using a 320 and liked it so much he decided it get the X5. The only downside seems to be the limited of optics that will mount to it, he plans on getting the Deltapoint which seems to be good for his purposes.

I have an optic on mine too. C-more slide ride with a sidewinder mount. Be kind of hard to carry it though.

Well, I think the x5 is the best shooting striker fired pistol I have shot. In fairness I only ran 2 mag through it. We had to mount the delta point pro dot and get it zeroed in and of course the owner was pretty excited to shoot it for the first time. The extra weight of the frame was very notable and it fired very flat. It came with 3 mags with heavy aluminum base pads, and the slide looks cool with the top window cuts. I was also impressed with the optic, much nicer to use than any other dot I have tried. The optic is more of a competition than a tactical type I believe. The dot was so easy to find it would be distinct advantage imo. If anyone is on the fence, just buy it. I wish I took a few more pics but time was a bit limited.

A few of the guys at my Club say it shoots 124gr bullets the best, just passing it along.

Picked up my Legion today. Aside from the color, skeletonized trigger and the weight it is pretty much the same as the P320 X Five I built. I cost me about 100 dollars less to build the lighter version but would have cost about 80 dollars more to build it than buy it with the tungsten infused frame.

It is a genuinely nice pistol and I cannot wait to shoot it.

so I have Fired the legion and the X5 I built actually ran about 100 rounds through each. Even had @Gonzobird throw a magazine through each just for an unbiased opinion. To me they shoot the same, They are nice pistols and well aside from the weight they are the same pistol. Good groups at 10 yards, fast pointer, shoots where it is aimed. Can’t really say more about it until I get a few hundred more through it.

I was actually really surprised with how well they both shot. Really smooth pistols. Probably the best trigger on a striker fire pistol I have shot. The only thing I noticed between the Legion and the one that was built by @dsdmmat was weight but I really could not feel a difference in how they shot. I think I liked the feeling of the weight of the Legion a bit more.
Got me looking at build kits now...

Remember when people used to complain about how heavy 1911s were and how they were terrible because of it? What ever happened to that? Now heavy guns are the bees knees it seems. That's why I never got into and still hate fads. If a gun is good it's good.

I mean it's not really a fad when its always been like that for competition handguns
