It would be readily convertible to accept more than 10. All you have to do is add one more link. If they made this lever bull pup magazine fed, then it would be legal.

This one is not a disintegrating belt. The belt is a fixed capacity, so a 10 round version should be NY legal.

While it *could* have it's capacity increased, it would be more difficult that many magazines that are widely considered compliant. (for instance any 10 round magazine that someone makes a +1 baseplate for)

The guy that made this designed a proprietary belt with non disintegrating links, so if one was to do the same but design the belt with non disintegrating links with a 10 round limit per belt and make the belts not able to clip together then you should be good to go. This but with mag fed would be cool as well.

They are not belts that you can easily add a link to.

They are fixed belts, like the old cloth 1919 belts.

Adding another link to one would be much harder than throwing a +1 baseplate on a regular magazine.

You do not assemble one of these belts as you load it like a disintegrating belt. When you build the belt originally you give it all the links it will ever have.

The belt itself is a high cap magazine if it can hold more than 10 rounds.

Doesn't matter if it's a magazine for a lever action.

Semi-auto, detachable magazine = no FH/MB, no threaded barrel, no foregrip, no collapsible stock, no pistol grip
Almost everything* = no capacity over 10 rounds

You can't even have a good ol' fashion walnut/blued lever with a mag tube that holds > 10*.


* Interestingly, .22 cal tubular magazines are specifically exempted, but not smaller caliber rimfires.

Well, for one, I hope Ruger decided to buy this design from this guy. I mean why not, even without the belt-feed, it is a fantastic new take on a lever action gun. I want one. The hard work is already done for them. Redesign it for a 10 round rotary magazine and you're gold. Better yet, if possible design it so that you can use a magazine or a belt-feed module that snaps into the same spot.

It will never happen, but, it's cool the dream.

It's public domain now. Anyone can build it and sell it without giving this guy a dime.

The belt appears to have steel hinge pins that are pressed into place.

Probably not terribly difficult to add more, but certainly harder than swapping a baseplate on a glock mag.

When you are right, you are right. It does appear to be put together by roll pins if you zoom closely in.

Uh-oh! Never gave it a thought but I might have a short belt of assorted .50 BMG rounds sitting on a shelf. If I had something like that and it was only six rounds Id 'probably think it was legal to have but now? Guess it's a good thing I lost it in that horrible canoe accident.

Is pretty cool, but not sure why he wouldn't make the front handle the pump/lever for the cycling action... I think it would provide a more consistent shot placement than having to move the trigger hand to cycle the lever. Just an observation! Like I said, is pretty cool regardless!
