Everyone gives up something. There is not one person who agrees with Trump 100% or Biden 100%. They may think they do but they don’t if they were to dwell deep and research all of their stances. I am sure you do not agree with the Libertarian candidate 100 percent. But you have to vote for someone. Otherwise, you make it worse on yourself for the issues you hold dearly.

Bottom line, everyone compromises. They have to. There are only 2 candidates. Not a million candidates. Imagine if we all did like you for the next 50 years. Where will our gun rights be? Where will this country be as far as immigration goes?

I hate revolvers. With a passion I do. But if the choice was to carry a revolver or nothing because Glocks were illegal, would it be smart for me to give up carrying all together if I valued my family’s lives?

You are not. Your vote is just about which option you think will lead to the best outcome.

If you choose not to vote, you are saying that there will be a better outcome if you have no input on the election.

I do allow my political favorites and my wants to cloud my judgement. I do not track each and every County in the Country in an attempt to sway the vote. I look, I research, I dig deeper into very small pockets of the Country and come to my conclusions.

No statistician will ever use such an absolute term. You can see that they projected trump around 30% chance and his win was well within their margin of error. They say that specifically at the top of the link.

The "polls were wrong" is a myth. It's just not true. Clinton was supposed to eek out a win. Instead she eeked out a loss. Within margin of error. Like saying smoking is bad for you. We know it is, but sometimes people live to 100 years old anyway.

Don’t take this as an attack on you specifically. I’m just trying to understand the logic.

So when you get a candidate that you agree with on certain issues that’s perfect for you that actually gets the nomination (Let’s use the disbandment of NFA and no tariffs as an example that you really care about), should others that do not care about tariffs or are for tariffs or actually believe in the NFA, not vote for your candidate and instead bow out or write on the ballot, “none of the above” to in turn allow the worse candidate that is for open borders and more gun laws for example to have a greater chance of winning?

How does that further their lives? Now instead of getting a candidate in there that is for the closing of open orders which is important to them and their business, they do nothing because they do no agree with the disbandment of the NFA. Now borders will open even more further affecting their businesses. You don’t get your tariffs, NFA disbandment, and your open borders closed and others don’t get their open borders closed. Now we all lose when Biden relaxes more immigration laws, passed a federal AWB, and increases tariffs for argument’s sake.

Problem is, I usually can’t stomach a huge percentage of the other baggage. I want gay and trans rights (reasonable ones, not woke ones) and for politicians to stay out of the bedroom or be in the business of issuing marriage licenses. That’s pervy. Non-interventionism, sensible military cuts, more relaxed immigration, drug legalization/decriminalization, and criminal justice reform.

On the other hand, I want small government which devolves more and more powers back to local jurisdictions. End fiat currency. Entitlement restrictions. Much lower taxes and far less regulation. Look for market-minded solutions. No more spying on us, far better privacy enforcement, and to the extent it can, do a better job of maintaining free speech. Ditch Federal education mandates. Give us our damn guns.

There’s no plausible scenario where I can vote for either of those corrupt awful parties without giving up something very dear to me.
