The ATF does not use a magical formula to determine percentage complete and nowhere will you see anything in their publications regarding percentage. 80% was a term adopted by builders/supporting companies to describe a product. An "80%" AK from example made from a flat is not even close to 80% complete, more like 80% to go...
If you submit a sample to the technical branch for evaluation it comes back as firearm or not firearm, nothing else.

The point is that nothing in the law supports their notion that "this piece of plastic that we ruled wasn't a firearm magically becomes one if you put it in a box next to some springs and stuff that also aren't firearms"

Ultimately though, the law is wholly inadequate and should be void for vagueness.

The law itself needs to give the public notice what is and isn't forbidden. The very idea that you need to send something off to the technology branch and they'll "know it when they see it" is an anathema to the very idea if the rule of law.

I admire your willingness to accept he is NOT the perfect candidate we were all hoping for. It's much more than I can say about the blind faith many give Trump.

I would be a vocal proponent of Trump if he followed through on even half of his promises. Hell, I'd have voted for him on the mere basis of charging Hillary. Unfortunately he turned out to be a bigger windbag than anyone up to this point.

I agree with you on that. Officials that swear an oath to the constitution should be held accountable.

You have to remember: Trump openly supported the bump stock ban and "taking the guns first." Those words are permanently etched in my memory and any hope of him getting my vote for a 2nd term, died that day.

If that was the case then why did the ATF one TWO separate occasions say it did NOT fall under the NFA definition of a machine gun (UNDER OBAMA NO LESS)
