Well based on the ATF they say it actually is a firearm.
Get caught with a bump stock and just a bump stock and guess what you now have an "illegal machine gun"
folding/telescoping stock is not a necessity for a firearm to function...

Well actually... If you ordered a drop in auto sear or lightning link or even made a device out of a coat hanger it would be an unregistered machine gun. Unless you got a tax stamp of course. I guess that's how the ATF can get away with the bumpstock even though it still doesn't ACTUALLY make it full auto. It's the same way a baffle can be considered a suppressor. It's all ridiculous.
Someone mentioned constructive intent. The problem with that is that a lower doesn't necessarily have to be an NFA item. Remember... in non communist states you are allowed to build firearms for personal use. So even if you ordered an 80% WITH the parts to make it functional WITH intent to make it a firearm there's nothing illegal about it. You can't send a firearm through the mail. An 80% isn't a firearm until it's milled out. This should be won in court pretty easily.

And just to be a bit more technical and confusing lol. You can indeed buy just an auto sear. But not a drop in auto sear (DIAS). You can also buy a full auto bolt carrier for an AK and a full auto sear for the AK too. All the parts and springs needed. This is because you would have to drill a 3rd hole into the respective receivers. And again it's all ridiculous.

Either way, even with all his faults, a Trump vote was far better than the alternatives.
Policy wise, I agree with Jo far more. But we vote for more than policy. Jo would not have fought 1/10th as hard, even if she could have gotten elected.

The 2A doesn't say "guns" it says "arms".
That would generally include all the equipment necessary for a soldier to wage war.
By that notion, bump stocks might not be protected because no army in it's right mind would ever issue them, they are a gimmick.
Full auto is protected. As is body armor (which isn't even a weapon, but is certainly part of "arms necessary to equip a militia")

It doesn't really matter what you or I or anyone else in this state voted for. NY votes blue and changed their election law so the popular vote winner always gets the electoral. You and everyone else are so quick to say I'm wasting my vote, while you all make the same fruitless effort to vote for your candidate.
You have a right to tell me your candidate is the only logical choice and I have the right to disagree. At the end of the day it's all philosophy because our fate was sealed way before this election. Voting here made no difference.
