Oh man I haven't done an Appleseed in 10 years, I have to try to make this (even if it's 3 hours one-way, will likely get a hotel overnight).

I like to think my shooting has improved the past 10 years, but haven't practiced the various positions in a while. (that's what she said) I have a 10/22 Takedown that is set up great except for sling though I've heard there are flexing issues with the Takedowns when slung.

My first (and only) Appleseed I added TechSights but I didn't like them. I would hate to 'cheat' and use optics but hate the irons...

The shoots at my club have in the past had shooter's that came from as far as Long Island and Buffalo.

There actually was an F-1 fighter. It was the redesignation of the FJ-1 Fury which was a navalized variant of the F-86 Sabre.

I went to Palmerton last October for my first Appleseed Event. There were people from PA, NJ and all over NY: NYC, Hudson Valley and Central NY (me).
The people there were great. Definitely bring a mat. I would also recommend elbow pads.

As for cross firing which happens!! At my Club (Sara Spa Rod & Gun Club) we started using full cake sheets which were white on one side and brown on the other side, White, Brown, White, Brown on the whole line of target backers which cut down on cross firing!
