I was expecting to get at least the same range and coverage as my handheld VHF radio. Not so. When I'm fishing on the lake, I can talk to my house 1 mile away. I can not do that with the HAM handheld, and you're not supposed to use the VHF unless you are on the water. I was looking for an...
Got our tech licenses, bought a couple of handhelds, and found out they're useless when you live in a valley.
In order to get a repeater, I have to drive up to the top of the mountain.
If I need to do that, I might as well drive a little further to the Fire Dept, have a cup of coffee and say...
Not meaning to insult anyone, but If you're looking to get into another expensive hobby, then great. Getting into HAM is akin to joining a Civil War Re-enactment club. You learn how things were done in the old days. There is no modern practical use for it; they don't even require Morse Code...
So what if... Biden wins the Primaries and Bloomberg is his VP pick?
Think of the millions in ads now.
They win the election, that would be interesting.
Biden falls apart in office and Bloomberg becomes president.
Thanks everyone. I was out of town for the week on a no electronics vacation.
Man, I love those.
Now I have to spend a week answering emails o_O
I'll post pictures in a few days.
Saltwater60, I'll get back to you.
Thanks all. I looked up the serial number on the Colt site.
They say it's a Model 1860 Colt Army made in 1862.
I was hoping to find someone to give me a value in it's current condition, so I can sell it.
I know if I take it apart and get it working, I'm gonna have to keep it :).
Anybody know someone or have experience fixing black powder revolvers?
It's is a 3 screw model missing one screw and the hammer won't stay back.
I want to sell it, but I know it's worth more if it's functional.
