I would feel slightly less skeptical about this law IF the accuser were held liable and punished when the accused is found innocent. They should be arrested and be financially responsible for any and all legal fees and any and all "mental anguish / pain and suffering" they cause.

As per the sheriff's Dept. While in the act of hunting yes you can carry your pistol in a chest rig. After hunting you must follow the rules set aside for your particular permit.

According to the office, yes you can, no it can't be loaded .. nowhere on the Madison sheriff's site does it say anything about being or not being loaded

I will after I have my permit for a year. In the meantime I'm going to keep taking courses, of it helps, great, if not I will keep trying

It is very frustrating. I can walk into any LGS and walk out today with any rifle or shotgun of my choice but I have to jump through hoops and shell out lots of money to MAYBE get an unrestricted permit.

I'm in Madison county. I have my restricted pistol permit and am in the process of taking several courses so in a year I can apply for unrestricted. Has anyone here in Madison county been successful with such approach? Thank you in advance.
