Does anyone have issues with this ?
I shoot a Glock 19, Gen4 & Gen5.
In my case when I draw fast and punch out to the target my sights naturally point high.
I have to make an adjustment by canting my right wrist to get a perfect index (sight picture).
When time allows I do this but while running...
@misunderestimated, I only use belt loop attachments for my holsters and mag pouches.
Blade-tech and Comp-tac make good stuff for competition.
I have a few of their products.
@misunderestimated, I have been to Master Class many times.
I always wanted to join their winter Combat League but never got around to it.
Maybe I'll take a ride up next Wednesday.
Thanks for the reminder.
Shooting league in Monroe, NY | Master Class Shooters Supply
I'm at a range once a week.
I try to train either once or twice a month.
The other weeks I practice reinforcing the skills I've learned while training.
As you all know shooting is a perishable skill.
You are only as good as you are cold.
So what are you waiting for ?
Get out and hone those skills !
Any of you guys coming out this Sunday ?
The weather should be good.
It would be nice to see some of you Keyboard Jockeys
coming out from behind your computer to show us what you got.
See you then.... if you dare !
I could of gotten a NYC full carry when I lived in the Bronx many moons ago.
What a mistake not doing that.
I think I'll contact a lawyer or two and see what they have to say.
I really want to move out of Westchester.
My real estate taxes are more than what some people earn.
My kids are long out of the school system so there is no reason for me to stay in this county.
Why is it a good thing ?
It eliminates some freedoms of carrying your gun.
Sportsperson allowed you to carry legally while doing many different activities.
Target, hunting, fishing, hiking, camping, etc.
Now for a civilian trying to get a permit they will have to choose between target or...
I think Westchester County eliminated the Sportsperson Restriction.
I was at one of Ben's Onsight Firearm Classes at Blue Mountain
yesterday and one of his regulars mentioned this.
I checked their website and they removed the amendment
for it and also removed mention of it in their pistol...
I've had a M&P 40, I shot it with great success.
My son has a M&P 40 2.0 and M&P 40C 2.0.
He shoots them well.
DO NOT BUY a M&P Shield in 40.
A very hard gun to manage recoil.
@garyv350, I never had the honor of meeting judge Emmet Murphy.
He use to shoot at the Ardsley Pistol Range that I belonged to but could never seem to catch him.
Although I do know judges that knew him and said he was quite the character.
I too know some of the Westchester cops that work there...
@MikeGrad, When you go there in person they ask for your permit.
Then they go to the computer and see where the amendment is in the system.
Every time I went I was told it was on the Judge's desk.
I may be imaging that this helped but the couple of times I did this I received it in the mail 2...
@MikeGrad, 5 years ago my original permit took 4 months to the appointment and 4 months to be issued.
4 years ago my it took 4 months to amend my permit from Target to Sportsman.
I suggest you stop by the courthouse and get in their face.
The judges have a habit of letting them sit on their...
If you can, stop by the court house.
It probably has already been signed and is sitting on the judges desk.
I did this on 2 occasions and received it in the mail 2 days later.
I guess I woke them up, it's worth a try.
@Podmonkey, I've used the Aguila 124 Grain 9mm and the Aquila 62 Grain 5.56.
No problems, pretty clean ammo. Aquila is manufactured in Mexico.
For a few pennies more I rather shoot American Eagle made in the USA.
No, I don't enjoy cleaning my guns.
I do it because it has to be done.
When I first got involved with firearms it was fun, it was something new.
Now it's a PIA.
Furthermore you should never eat or drink while cleaning your guns
(contaminants) even though you probably put your face in dirtier...
I always enjoyed boating.
I especially love navigation.
When I ran boats buoys were black, not green.
Loran C was it, not Sat Nav or GPS.
A different world today.
The United States Power Squadrons has weekly meeting.
Each week is a different topic about piloting, seamanship and small boat handling.
From the buoyage system to celestial navigation.
They frequently give tests and you can increase your level of knowledge.
The top level is N (Navigator).
If...
I agree, Welcome to Onsight Firearms Training, LLC is your best bet.
He runs rifle, shotgun and pistol classes at Blue Mountain
in Cortland Manor which is about 45 minutes from you.
In his classes safety is paramount and not only you will learn a lot you will have fun doing it.
Same reason I have car insurance, wear seat belts, have home owners
insurance, have fire extinguishers, smoke, co2, burglar alarms, etc.
You never know what could and will happen.
If you use the beavertail backstop you will get a better grip on the gun but when you
holster you can't put your thumb behind the slide which prevents it from going out of battery.
I have recently picked up my Glock Gen5 and have not yet been able to put it through it's paces.
For now I would say somewhat improved.
I would need more time before I could properly answer that question.
There are many improvements over the Glock Gen4.
The trigger is only one of them.
For those who have not seen this article it's very informative.
Here's the Full Reveal of the New Glock Gen5 Pistol | RECOIL
@Podmonkey, The Glock Store Survival Kit should have an extractor along with all the other springs.
The Glock night sights (Meprolight) are only good in certain lighting conditions.
At dusk you will only see silhouettes and they are not too well defined.
In daylight your better off with a...
With all that's going on in the country I'm beginning to believe that the judges are becoming afraid to sign off
on a permit or amendment in the event the licensee decides to do something stupid or has his gun lost or stolen.
It's about time, 6 weeks to the day.
Dropped off amendment at courthouse on 4/20.
Stopped by courthouse on 5/21 to check status.
Was told still on judges desk, 1 or 2 weeks more.
Amendment signed on 5/21, what a coincidence
Received in mail 6/1.
On the advice of my friend Ben at Onsight Firearm Training,
I purchased a Leather Wing holster from Black Point Tactical.
I was not disappointed !
It is one of the most comfortable holsters that I ever wore.
It contours to my body as well as my belt does and the
retention is one of the best I...
