Albany, I bring my Albany County Amendment Form + State Police Amendment Form to the county clerk, wait..., receive letter in the mail telling me to come in, and then I get a coupon (with judge's signature) to give to the gun store, while I am at the county clerk they will print a new weapon...

My NY FFL told me that the only people they could receive pistols from are other FFL's, or NY Pistol Permit Holders. Not saying you are wrong...just some confusion out there.

To be honest I see this as almost the exact same thing as the Mossberg Shockwave. I think you could have one in 9mm (good luck buying the ammo without a pistol permit though).

I don't think it matters because the weapon I am outlining is not a rifle or shotgun because it is not meant to be shouldered. Let's see what others say.

That's the thing, I have no idea who my judge is, it wasn't on the letter from the clerk. The letter says my application has just been approved by a judge, I don't need to meet with one. I'll let you guys know if it was unrestricted tomorrow (I think it will), great day!

07SEP2017 - Received letter from County Clerk saying my permit application was granted. I did not have to meet with a judge. There is nothing in the letter that says anything about restrictions. I will pick up my permit tomorrow and reply again. So glad the process is almost over.

25AUG2017 - The application is done with Colonie...now onto the Albany County Clerk's office. I am praying for a quick judge. If I have a good judge I should be seeing a letter near the middle/end of September - with an appointment to see the Judge in Late September.

Thanks for posting, much appreciated. It's sad to see that Albany County was the biggest bottle neck in the process. Colonie does all the leg work with the investigation, and Albany County sits on it...when all they have to do is paperwork.
