The only thing that will prevent Ukraine from prevailing in their unasked for mess is if the rest of the world abandons them.
Especially if the "push comes to shove" moment arises.
If the rest of the world had provided access to the tools they needed prior to the invasion this whole debacle...
I have been following this thread since it's beginning. I sense some " my Father can beat up your Father" going on .
Your response to my only post in the thread makes me wonder if a nerve was struck. Maybe one Dad is not as capable as
His little boy thought.
I guess time will tell.
Who were the "idiots" that played with fire when they placed an enormous military operation on Ukraines border and then proceeded to invade?
Looks like the invader has paid an unexpected premium in the "price" of that decision.
Lots of talk here about fake news, propaganda etc. I find it...
Interesting thing comparing the double barrel to the shockwave. You get over two more inches in barrel length with the double barrel while staying at nearly the same overall length. ( only a half in longer ) Actually the double has enough area on the stock to have another half inch removed and...
Yes something like that. However what remains of the stock has more shape / curves that seem to fit my hand better and lend more of a secure grip and comfort. I texted the owner and got a photo. See post #10 above.
Edit: I do have large hands. Not fat or meaty but my hands are quite wide...
I found out the gun is a Savage made model 511. Also designated "Springfield" 511
I think the major difference between what I held and the shockwave is that the shape of the original 511 stock has more shape to it.
Where it is cut off is just rearward of where the upper and lower curve occurs...
Kev74
Barrel is 1 3/4 inch longer than what I saw. Also overall length is much beyond what I saw.
I am probably just bored. I have no new firearms needs and the shot gun I held just looked and felt unique.
Plus it was simple and I like that. Just A simple break action with two shots. It just...
I hear you on the pistol grips. That is nt what I am saying this shortened original stock is.
I own a 590 A1 with 18.5 inch barrel and like it a lot with the factory stock so I am not trying to replace that.
BUT, I had been giving a casual look at the shock Wave because of its compactness for...
I tried to find an active thread to put this in but did not seem to have any luck.
Looking for comments.
I was at someones house a day to two ago who has all sorts of rifles, pistols and other various firearms.
He shows me what I will call a double barrel sawed of shotgun. Not only was the...
There is more to this.
I own a small cottage in Canada that I have been spending the summer months at. Nothing extravagant etc. Quite small with one bedroom, one bathroom and an open concept kitchen / living area.
Water, sewer and garbage removal are billed annually as part of the tax bill...
Standard, blued. .357 14-2 barrel and shroud.
I am familiar with the DW revolver group. I think the majority of the participants are collectors.
Seems to be a lot of interest in getting complete pistol packs, correct cases, belt buckles, various grips etc.
My sense is if they are selling the...
Was that barrels only? Or, barrels and shrouds?
I have a 2.5" barrel and shroud that is part of my " must clean up my life" stuff. Been trying to figure out a value.
LOL, Gotta love AZ when it comes to firearms. I was carrying legally in AZ over 10 years ago. Gun laws have always been crazy.
I spent a lot of time in AZ, but was physically parked just across the Colorado River in CA. So if I was really concerned about remaining legal, ( not terribly often...
That certainly would be nice. However, back when there were fewer States moving toward Constitutional carry seems I read that it was for residents of that State only. Hope I am wrong.
Anyone know if there is a place or site that will show how many of these 22 States apply the law to non residents?
I am guessing that it applies to residents of the State in at least some of them.
Today on return to NY from Florida. $4.19 / Gallon in Binghamton, NY. It will continue higher.
I am hoping all the folks I know that voted for our present administration have tons of activities planned that
require petroleum based purchases. They will only wake up ( well hopefully ) when...
Frankly. I have finally reached the point where I hope things go south in a big way. I am willing to make what ever sacrifices are required.
IMO the only way this entire debacle that the present administration has created will be corrected is to hit rock bottom. I hope that those who voted...
I agree with the mass vacation idea. Remember only a few weeks ago when there was an issue with getting enough trucks to unload the container ships?
If truck drivers took a coordinated vacation for a few weeks, not only would the product that is delivered to countless store fronts come to a...
I have a couple of .357's. Both made by Dan Wesson in Monson, MA. They are roll marked as High Standards.
For two years in the mid seventies Dan Wesson made the Sentinel series of High Standard .357's.
One is a "duty Model" ( MK 11 ) equivalent to a DW 14-1. Other has target sights ( MK 111 )...
I think I read about this some time ago. I thought that there was a series of thefts involving historically significant items from different locations. Sort of serial artifact theft. All went unsolved and I thought this guy was the person responsible.
Are you sure? I purchased a rifle at a gun show in Yuma AZ from an FFL dealer and carried it in a Motorhome to Oregon where I stored the MH for a few months and flew home to NY with the cased rifle on commercial airlines.
The dealer first checked to make sure it is legal for me to own and...
Yeah, I don't know the particulars in regards to who contributed money . I just found it odd that the attorney Lin Wood would make claim to it. I think it was in the post verdict interview with Rittenhouse's lawyer that he said something about Lin Wood making claim to the money.
I may have...
So where exactly does the Governors election stand? Are there any developments? Are more votes being counted or recounted?
My question in post #10 remains unanswered. Anyone have information or links that reveal any evidence of Ciattarelli having any chance at all of becoming Governor of NJ?
Heh, Heh, Gotta tell this story.
Many years ago I was working at the FBO of a local airport. One morning @ 0630 as I unlocked the door to open up the phone was ringing.
I answered and a lady began reading me the riot act about a student training flight that was flying over her neighborhood...
My question would be , is this an accurate news report?
I want to believe it is true but unfortunately it seems that 'fake news" lives on both sides of the fence.
Is anyone receiving the audio of oral argument without frequent breaks in the audio?
I am listening on the Supreme Court site and it is severally broken. If the issue is on my end I will just turn it off and listen to a recording later.
Just curious if anyone else is having this issue as well.
EXACTLY what was going through my mind when I posted at 2345 last night!
Look at where the NJ Governorers race is at. I cannot help but wonder when the spike in Murphy votes will hit?
Democrat strongholds reporting is low at 2345 in both VA and NJ.
The big dump will happen soon. The vans are arriving with mail in votes as I type this.
Time to update this for sale thread I guess.
I have ferry reservations to cross the Gulf on Oct. 20th. Drive home will take 2.5 days after disembarking from the ferry. First couple of days back in NY are a little hectic getting the house opened up, unpacking etc.
I will be sending PM's to...
Having worked in aviation maintenance and being a pilot, I would walk before flying on Delta. I believe they are the airline that said they would institute "inclusion hiring". I want the most qualified person working on and flying any plane I am flying in. Not someone who got their job...
I rode the Translabrador prior to it's completion when it was all gravel. Required a ferry trip from Cartwright to Goose Bay back then. IIR it was over 600 miles of gravel.
Anyway, I have you on the list. Being fairly local to me is to your advantage.
Stay safe,
Lee
We are in a small community called "Pools Island". It is on the North side of Bonavista Bay just North of Greenspond.
I owned a motorcycle every day of my life since I was 15 Y/O. Being in my seventh decade and having survived with only a couple of pavement contacts I decided it might be a...
Heh, Heh,
Small world! I used to run the maintenance Dept. at NY-27. ( Airport in Johnstown ) I now your area well. Had the Krown treatment done on my truck at 4X Heaven before heading to NL.
Normans Cove is about 3 hours South of us closer to St. Johns. We go by the turn when we leave...
Soooo, I have been catching up after a week away from the forum. Saw the post about Russian ammo Import. Also see that ammo companies are bombarding my e-mail about it and offering Eastern Bloc ammo at some rather "interesting" prices.
Just want to say right here that I will NOT be trying to...
I think there are two different issues. I agree on the case design etc in regards to functionality. . In addition there are differing Spec. for the projectile diameter and the barrel diameter. the accuracy is the second part of two. I was assuming ( a bad thing sometimes ) that most of us own...
I am sickened by the situation in our Country at present. What makes me the sickest is that fellow citizens, neighbors and previous friends helped put us here.
Consider, A white woman police officer mistakenly draws her service weapon while intending to deploy her taser. She shoots a known...
