I've only seen the coating slightly recede away from the cutting edge with hard cardboard and plastic material cutting in one small spot on the blade. I would say the staying power of most quality brand coatings is excellent!
I've found most people with hard use won't really test a G-10 handle alone without liners to the point of breaking. Many light Spyderco knives don't have liners and you don't hear of people knocking them for breaking. Unless you're hammering on the spine of a blade I would have no concerns of...
Some looks, some function. Like a coating on a gun it helps keep the blade rust free aside from the bare metal edge. It's nice on blades that are less resistant to rust but on my Spyderco I just think it looks damn cool. Will wear with hard use though!
I'm a Spyderco fan for actually working and abusing a blade and absolutely love my tenacious for EDC, but for pure quality and aesthetics, Benchmade reigns supreme for me.
Because I am currently in school I am forced to leave my gun in the car a lot of times throughout the week and reholster when leaving school. For this reason I needed something quick and convenient to store my weapon in a discrete location. I ended up purchasing the Liberty Safe HD-100 which is...
I'm hoping it comes closer to 2, I really want to start carrying this thing and practicing some draws from concealment. Do you remember what their estimated lead times were at the time when you ordered?
Swapping the springs, having polished parts and a properly shaped trigger bar is where all the weight reduction in the pull comes from, from what I understand. If the trigger didn't come with a spring kit or anything then I would imagine its more polished and smoother than the OEM trigger but...
It's a DK Custom trigger. Link is posted below. It maintains the Glock OEM trigger shoe to make it USPSA production legal but shortens the pre-travel, over-travel and reset. I was getting 2.5lbs on my wheeler trigger gauge but found I shot at distance better with a slightly heavier trigger so I...
This is my Glock 34 Gen 4 USPSA production gun. Has a few modifications from stock including Dawson Precision sights, DK custom trigger kit with the Lone Wolf connector replaced by a Ghost 3.5 Ultimate connector (makes a perfectly crisp 3lb pull with a reduce pre-travel, no over-travel, and...
Glad to hear, I have 2 friends that got the raptor and love it, I myself am saving up to get one (but I first need to get a surefire x300u and also see if they can work in the DG switch as well, since they don't make one for CZ I hear the M&P one works) then get a new spare mag holster, both...
Thanks again for the help and recommendation! Watched quite a few youtube videos and read reviews on TREX holsters after your recommendation. I caved and went with the Raptor model to use for both AIWB and IWB 3-6 o'clock. Better to cringe once and get what'll serve you well than do it twice.
TREX arms has an option to have an optic cut on the holster so I think even with a high sweat guard it would still work. Though I looked through the FAQ's and they recommend a mid guard which is what I'll go with.
Nice rig, and extremely concealable! I'm not sure how I would fair carrying appendix though as I carry more weight in the front than you. I may start off with a nomad holster that can be moved to appendix or 3-6 o'clock and see what works best and if appendix works then I'll make the step up to...
I would like to get an FDE frame to stipple and cerakote the stippling area black, I like the look of it and have seen several nice examples done by revolution concepts. Another nice option with the P320c is you can still get a subcompact frame to have a smaller package for carry also.
Went to T.REX arms site and looking through their holster options. I like what they have for their options. Whats your take on the shirt guard with running an optic? What size guard is your preference?
Also anyone with a P320 have any holster recommendations that they know will fit the RX version as well? Looking for an IWB and possibly an OWB for carry.
Most good techniques just come with practice and repetition. I presume I'll be very comfortable with this gun with a few hundred more rounds and some dry firing practice like you have already been doing.
That's gonna be a good looking gun, I saw a few of the FDE compacts and the coloration of the slide is pretty sweet, almost a bronze FDE but matches great with the frame and black components! Please post pics when you get it in hand!
I sent in the rebate info as soon as the gun was paid for. They should be able to send 10 rounders because it works on a promo code and you add the stuff to your cart.
As far as size, I went with the compact simply because I wanted something that could flex into a home defense role or be an edc...
That gun looks awesome, gotta love a custom glock. I dig the cerakote work too! I've heard great things about the vortex viper too, gonna have to check out the thread on it
I would definitely recommend it so far. I think it's a total package with night sights and optic etc that comes in at a great price point for all it's options. I think other companies will jump on the optic and milled slide bandwagon as a standard package following sig
Haha that's funny don't know that it would work with my forum name. I can't jump full sig bandwagon quite yet because I'm still a big beretta shotgun fan
The dot does show your every move, I had my father come and shoot it too because his eyes aren't what they used to be and he loved that he could see the dot but he would have to work on shooting it as well, he was a little shakey
That's awesome and a nice array of fun firearms! Like my dad always said when I shot matches against him, "I win if I beat him and I win if I lose to him because I can say I taught him everything he knows"
Love the gun but it's a little tougher for me off the draw, so far that's my greatest difficulty. I think it wins in the accuracy department though, shot a few 2.5-3 inch groups rested at 20 yards to sight it in and then moved up to 10 for some quicker shooting and draws.
Picked it up today and put 100 rounds through it quick. It's definitely different shooting with an optic but I like it, finding the dot off the draw seems to be the toughest part so far.
Well I waited long enough. I've been wanting the P320 since it came out and the RX version since its arrival to the market though I hadn't been able to find one. Had a birthday this past weekend and decided to take a drive to one of my LGS's. They had a P320C RX in the case and I just couldn't...
Agreed, the only thing anyone "knows" is what the media feeds you. Like many of the previous tragedies in this country the full story and details are hard to get a clear picture of even months after the event.
I'm grabbing my Glock 34 for my hip and my Remington 870 with black synthetic furniture. With the versatility of 12 ga shotgun loads I couldn't leave that gun behind.
The media in general make me want to vomit when discussing firearms. It's like watching a 7 year old try to talk about high level physics on camera with a straight face.
I reload for USPSA and Steel Challenge and have found a good load out of my Glock 34 Gen 4 to be as follows; 125 gr 9mm RN from the blue bullets, 4.4 gr CFE pistol, Winchester primers, OAL - 1.13. Could back off the powder a little bit for softer target loads but have to make power factor for...
I follow a lot of youtube channels relating to firearms and outdoors subjects and found this video a while back. I don't currently have a safe that would require this much illumination to see into but it's a neat and fairly simple idea and appears to light a safe extremely well.
I would tend to agree with you. Not sure as to the reliability of the system just the theory behind it. The Px4 Storm is one that I knew of off the top of my head but I believe there are other guns that use this design as well.
It sounds like a similar barrel design to the Beretta Px4 Storm which has a rotating barrel. It's supposed to reduce recoil under the assumption that the barrel doesn't move upward when the slide moves rearward but instead rotates to go into and out of battery.
