I'm keeping my XP, just in case the XG doesn't live up to the hype.
As you know, you get what you pay for and I'm told that the XG is the shit.
Here's a pic of the first shot on target at 100 yards, after the rifle was disassembled, barrel fluted, coated, cleaned thoroughly and reassembled...
Just got my Impulse fluted barrel back, duracoated it with three coats of matte black and two coats of matte clear.
It weighs 11 pounds topped with the Thermion XP38 and a loaded five round steel AI magazine, the way I carry it in the field.
Bipod is on just for pics.
It's still a little barrel...
Seems like a nice spot, hopefully the game cam will see some good deer to get you psyched for opening day.
Look into installing some type of skirt around the stand to keep you hidden after the leaves drop, so you won't be sky lined.
I guess he's never heard of a warning shot ?
Why this officer did this interview is beyond me, as now her parents have a taped excuse/confession and will drain the DC police Dept for a lot of money and possibly have his pension taken away too.
In the end, His decision to hole up with the people...
Fearing how you'll look bad , Aka Optics, is why the GOP loses in the end, as their afraid to get dirty in the trenches with their voters.
While the regressive leftist's are fighting a guerilla war, the GOP lines up for a skirmish after tea time and are getting picked off one by one.
The end...
Some time ago I had a friend in PA inform me a local military collector had a Lahti L39 mounted on a trailer, with ammo, reloader and components for sale, for 3 grand.
I had the money, but WTF was I going to do with a semi auto 20mm, except brag that I owned a semi auto 20mm !
My friend had all...
States impose minimum caliber restrictions for a reason.
Unless you prove your talents at long range shooting to a guide that's willing to take a chance that your skilled enough to make an ethical kill shot at distance, their going to get you as close as possible to the quarry.
At those...
I want to have my savage impulse barrel spiral fluted.
The smith in Texas that I usually use is real busy.
Does anyone have a smith they can recommend around the tri state area ?
Thanks,
SJC
I'm not a Rem fan boy, but you need to give Remington it's due.
For decades, they've been the rifle that all others were compared to and have been building custom 700 rifles since 1962.
The model A ford of the firearms world.
I did some load testing for a friends Premiere HMR Pro last weekend...
Yet those Lib's that are buying those weapons in NY, NJ and other slave states, vote for the same idiots that are making the gun grabbing laws.
We have millions of gun owners in NY state, enough to make any election close, yet when it's time to vote..................Crickets.
The proof and...
Libs have ben planning this the whole time.
Defund the Police unit's that take guns off the streets.
Let murder + crimes involving guns soar until the scared and fed up public demand a response to cure the problem the Dems intentionally caused.
Take all guns away for public safety.
The world is...
I've been using Rivers edge tree stands for years.
We have multiple single and two man stands on our properties.
Regardless of the stand brand you buy, a curtain/skirt is a must have for concealment of movement.

ATN has a bad track record in all of those Dept's.
They are innovative, but there's a reason for the drastically reduced price.
Their good for mounting on a cinder block, before throwing it in a lake.
ATN= Another Technological Nightmare.
Read reviews on night vision sites before buying anything ATN.
There are some ATN products that are said to work without issues.
I was also told that I'm a Nigerian prince and my...
You can easily spot a person carrying appendix while their sitting down.
They look like they have some type of indigestion and are loosening their belts to relieve the pain of their guts being squished, or the holster being stuck into their groin.
I've been there, having carried a pistol or two...
I don't want to come off as condescending either, but in your first paragraph, you let us know about holster's and then in the second paragraph, you acknowledge that this chassis system only fit's a certain set of circumstances ?
I guessing that would include the circumstances that don't entail...
Two questions.
Why would you want the muzzle of your firearm pointing at your junk all the time ?
Do you ever plan on sitting down while using this holster ?
From the factory, the laser is aligned with the bore, not the sights.
You need to dial it in, just like you would do with a factory bore sighted rifle scope.
Come on Man !!!
Three lessons here ;
Always wear eye protection.
Never shoot questionable Ammunition.
Budget and 50BMG don't belong in the same sentence.
Having been around, shooting and testing 50Bmg rifles and ammunition most of my life, I have seen my fair share of failures and malfunctions.
Luckily most of...
And you probably think that Cuomo is doing a great job too ?
You got beat fair and square in 2016 SonOFSun/AKA Hillary !!!
Worst in History ? Come On man !
Jimmy Carter asked to meet with Biden, as he wanted to meet and shake the hand of the man who will dethrone him of being the worst President...
If you just want to dull the shine on your hunting rifle, you should just have it bead blasted.
If you want to do some type of coating on it in the future, their going to bead blast it first, as the coating sticks better when applying it to a bead blasted surface.
47 grains of H4350 chronod an Avg around 3,450 fps, with minimal pressure signs and no extraction issues.
It put 5 rounds into a dime at 100 yd's, So I'm good with that for now.
I'm thinking of trying out some 95 gr projos in the future, but I have hundreds of 70 grn projos to go through.
Got a lone female while doing over watch on cows and calves early Sat Am.
This one was harassing the herd for awhile before I could bridge the distance to get a shot at it.
70 gr NBT did the job, even with the bad shot placement.
Hopefully the first of many with the Impulse Predator.
SJC
Got to do some testing with it Sunday afternoon, between the raindrops.
Going to load some with 47 + 47.5 grains next, as I want a little more speed and there's no pressure signs yet.
I like this rifle and so did everyone else at the range.
1" Od dots.
Remember, it's gets lighter as you shoot it and you don't have to worry about carrying shells in your pockets to reload.
After a firefight, no one has ever complained they had to much ammo.
Here's a couple of pics I took before mounting the scope.
I was testing the right + left hand bolt cycling differences, after timing the muzzle brake.
I'm also looking into a different contoured and knurled bolt handle, as this one is very slick.
I'm looking for a mid sized wheel gun for those days that I'm not going to carry around my large framed 444UL's.
I have a mdl 37 snubby, but want something lightweight with a longer barrel and +p rated.
I searched around and found the Taurus 856 defender ultra-lite with a 3" barrel, night sight...
Finally got my hands on the Impulse Predator in 243.
My initial impression ;
It's a nice straight pull rifle, but if your expecting Blaser like quality for less than what a Blaser barrel costs, your dreaming.
Unlike the blaser, where the bolt assy rides on two rails, the Impulse bolt rides on...
My last hunt in regular season on the evening of 3/27.
Got a call that some coyote killed a newborn calf at this farm the weekend before.
By the way they were moving through the herd, I could tell these coyote were experienced and were probobly the calf killers I went there to take out.
They had...
I have a friend with an axis 2 243 he got for his daughter to hunt with and it like's the 100grain SST/38.5 grns of 4350 combo.
Dime sized 3 shot groups at 100 yards with it right from the factory and she's no Annie Oakley.
https://nightvisionuniverse.com/products/agm-taipan-tm10-256-thermal-monocular-256x192-12um-25hz-10mm-w-recording-3092851013ta01
Half the price and not even on the market yet, so it should retail for lower.
That's your choice, but a thermal monocular will make the odds much better in your favor and doesn't cost 1% of a 930 wide body.
A thermal monocular is also good for hunting any other warm blooded animal, security purposes, finding studs in the walls + ceilings, heat pipes in the walls + floors...
I've never seen thermal prices this low and for decent unit's, not some crap you can't see dick with.
When I started out on my thermal journey, there were hardly any choices and all of those choices were Mil hand out's and stupid expensive.
Now is the time to at least buy an AGM thermal...
Great Job.
Now that you have one under your belt, It's all downhill from here.:p
The hardest part of predator hunting in open field terrain, is waiting for them to come in close enough for a shot.
You have until the 28th, so I hope to see some more kill footage from you.
My father was a fishing guide on the mid gulf coast of Florida.
After trying a spiral guided rod a fellow guide had made and was using way before they became popular, he had three spiral rods built to his specs and that's all he used till he retired when he turned 80.
My father never does...
