I am curious if there are any advocacy groups or firearms organizations that are really worth supporting in NYS. I joined NYSFA a few month back but all I really see from them is angry posts on their FB page and not much in the way of anything they are doing.
I just joined the NRA... just...
I agree that cruiser ready is really just a preference and offers no positives if the gun is properly secured. I figure since there are kids and possibly a wife to keep calm when it comes to the idea of loaded weapon in the house, the cruiser ready mode is a selling point.
Good points made. I guess the first decision you need to make is did you buy the shotgun for home defense? If yes, then you are obligated to keeping it in a state of ready and easily accessible by the authorized adults in the home. That shotgun locker looks like a great method. Check out...
I was there a week ago... they have literally no clue when they might see one. First come first server there so you gotta be super lucky. Watch their FB page though because they do a good job of posting when a delivery shows up. I am 3 minutes away if I blow traffic signals and I do know many...
I stopped on page 3... couldn’t read the back and forth going in circles anymore.
I signed the petition which was the original intent of the post. Looks pretty close to making it to the 5k goal. Will it help.. probably not but it won’t hurt.
:fuac:
buck and slug is hard.. I have just enough slugs but the buck I have some 00 but the rest is 1 Buckshot and that's probably all I'll be able to find for the Aug2 class.
I found an iOS app called Ammo Seeker and it searches all over the web for in stock ammo and prices. You won't always find...
Is your argument based on the Shockwave and other such style guns not being called a shotgun ( currently ) in the legal sense? I think I got a little confused along the way with all the back and forth. I forgot your original post was dealing with the shockwave. I suppose that by the technical...
Looking around the web via googlygoo and one thing is for sure... there are all sorts of interpretations, opinions and presumptions on this subject. Seems many LEA/O may also be operating under interpretations, opinions and presumptions if they pull you over and find a loaded Rifle/Shotgun...
Well you better book it... I just took one of the available October slots and I forwarded it off to a friend and told him to book also. Every week more people are buying and looking for instruction. Don't miss out again ;) I'll be there August 2 and now October 4th. The only problem is...
On the news I just heard #FUAC add to that dictate that you have to report to him if you LEAVE New York and head to a “high risk” state. Also said they can and WILL Immediately enforce the 2k fine if you leave an airport without reporting your travel plans. Also said they can and will force...
I have been considering a Shockwave or similar sized firearm for my van. The definition of loaded/unloaded is what I want to understand. Carrying the firearm would be for a last stand type situation where you find yourself in a bad situation. Assuming enough time to grab ammunition and...
Lol.. we all need to buy some NYGunforum t-shirts before the next visit. I am booked on the Aug 2nd one.
that cartridge is from laser-Ammo.com. They sell a 9mm cartridge which is the laser and then a shotgun gauge cartridge you place the 9mm into.
I am practicing my phone PRONE shotgun for...
Thanks, I sometimes use a wash coat of thinned shellac ( the zinsser sanding sealer stuff ) to smooth out the stain on woods prone to blotching. I also use a thicker wiping stain rather than a penetrating stain that soaks in. That seems to help a whole lot with those types of woods.
I thought about it but it makes it pretty difficult to drop a shell into the receiver during a tactical reload. I could practice coming at it underhanded I suppose so I don't hit the red dot.
Thank you. Cabinet Maker and Trim carp here. It was really nothing special material wise as I dont pay myself to make myself something. Lol. It was also an experiment to see if it was practical to make a rifle case from wood.
I used Baltic Birch Plywood and dowel joinery. The foam insert...
Just added ( well my gun shop did - shout out for Keith at Shootz and Latters ) Picatinny section of rail. So I grabbed a cheaper Red Dot off Amazon but it had some good reviews. I haven’t had a chance to get out and shoot with it yet but with the laser Ammo cartridge its dead on at about...
The only thing I see as a positive ( regarding Trump ) is the democratically run cities going full potato and letting riots and defunding efforts continue. People are going to continue to see crime rise at astronomic rates and I think Trump should just let it happen. Threatening US citizens...
This is the scariest truth we all face today... someone needs to slap the shit out of Trump and make him "woke" to how he alienates people that believe in the Constitution and a free society but just can't get on board with him for another 4.
I just hope those people pull the lever for him...
I hope for a repeat of 2016 for the liberals. They are more radicalized now than ever. Trump does seem hellbent on saying stupid shit though and making it easier for the fence straddlers or non-2A people to jump over to the other side.
If I am honest, I would wish for someone that wasn't so...
Just last week ( June 23rd ). Ulster Firearms but they sold out during the appointments over the weekend leading up to the opening. I put my name down at RISE range in Pearl River... 15 names before me so fingers crossed. Ulster has good prices though.. I think they quoted 550.00 for the 101...
I am wondering if anyone has come up with any practice routines you have for dry fire practice at home, specifically using some laser Ammo and a rifle or shotgun and an application like LASR. I am using the LASRX version which runs in a modern web browser mobile or computer.
I recently...
I found some about 60minutes north of me but they have no appts available and said they should have some available when they open to public on 23rd. Not sure I can get up there then...
Hey Andrew... next time I guess I'll ask who is part of this forum when we are all at the range. This is John.
That was my first training class with Ben and OFT... It was actually my first training class ever. I had a thoroughly good time and learned quite a bit from the day. I wish I got...
Everyone that has responded to me has said the same thing... all distributors seem to be out and nobody seems to want to guess when they will have them again. Unless you are in the store the day they arrive I guess you didn't/won't get one. Most stores aren't responding at all as they are...
Someone I met at the OFT training this last weekend recommended this place also. I just sent an inquiry to the instagram account I was directed to. Hopefully they will have something that fits my needs. Thanks!
Welcome to the forum and soon to the state. There is a lot to like about NY... family, geographic features, the everyday people.. In time, You'll learn on your own to hate what we all hate about NY ( taxes, politics, corruption, overbearing restrictions on gun owners are a few of the biggies )...
I've been calling all around within an acceptable driving distance. With the current state of the world and people losing their shit everyday and the rate guns are being sold... My gut is telling me I'm not gonna get any better price on the Ruger PCC so it might be time to just buy one of the...
I figure I will probably have to shit or get off the pot on this one. Decision will be made in the next 24hours. I see it online for around $550 but none of those retailers have them in stock. The ones that do have it seem to be at that $650 mark.
I overheard the guy behind the counter at Good Guys Guns and Ammo on the phone telling the caller they have a small number of AR-15s due. They are in Nanuet NY
So I stopped in to Good Guys Guns and Ammo, Nanuet today. They are supposedly getting in the base Ruger PCC... They showed an image of it on their FB page with the Midwest Industries rail system. Selling price was $650 for the base model... another $100 for the rail system.
I just got a call...
Anyone from here going to the June 13th session at Blue Mountain? If there is anyone going mention it and it would be great to meet another forum user.
I'll be there with my brother-in-law. I was waiting to see if Ben was going to post about it. It's sold out according to the website.
