Another data point would've been nice. My guess is that results in terms of accuracy would vary so wildly based on gun, donor ammo, choke, etc. that it would be like working up a handload and you'd just have to try a bunch to see how it does with your specific shotgun.
Neat concept. Reminds me of another YouTube video on wax slugs. The wax slugs are more work since you'd cut the crimp out, dump the pellets into molten wax, and pour the mixture into the shell. Seems like a similar result though.
Not exactly a Latino anthem, but there's a Spanish translation of the Star Spangled Banner. I was expecting some commie bullshit when I looked it up, but apparently it was commissioned by the government decades ago as a way for different ethnicities who didn't speak English yet to better...
Pretty much echo GOPerfect's sentiment on her exactly. I wouldn't have voted for her against Trump anyway, but there are definitely Republicans that I'd vote for her over.
She, Yang and Sanders never had a chance though. They weren't cut from the same mold the Dems like to pull their half-baked...
If I had primers I didn't trust to make reliable shooting ammo, I'd use them to make wax ammo with nothing but a primer for some indoor plinkers. Always wanted to make those, but never had any primers I was willing to use for not real ammo, and that goes double these days.
It's like they took the worst features from both to make it shitty on purpose.
"What if we take a Glock's frame width and bulkiness, throw a 1911 grip safety on it, then make it look like it has a 1911 trigger, but it'll have a striker-action feel instead. Make sure that the slide serrations...
Three hunting days so far. Saw plenty of does, but no bucks on opening day. Nothing on Day 2. Ready to take a doe at this point, but I went hunting with friends in a property outside where I have my DMPs and only saw a couple of does. Next week and probably the week after, I'm hunting public...
My first knife that I bought for myself was a Victorinox Spartan Swiss Army Knife. I don't know what happened to the original, but I must've been about 14 or 15 and took that thing everywhere. For my wedding, I bought one for each of my groomsmen as gifts and got myself one as well. I don't...
Picked up a pound of powder this weekend. Got lucky at a local store that sold me a pound of H-110 and 300 primers at ~$8.50/100. Primers are really thin and I'm definitely looking to get an 8lbs jug of some good all-purpose powder while I still can.
I'd say a pump might be a better option than a lever or revolver for an elderly novice.
The downside to a lever to me is that it seems a bit easier to short stroke than a pump for a newbie and the loop might hurt an old person's hands to work. As for a revolver, a double action trigger is heavy...
Tree stand hunted for the first time yesterday. Saw about 8 does and fawns (3 were probably repeat), a few coyotes, a ton of squirrels, and a black housecat. Let all the does go since it's opening weekend. Two of my buddies got an 8 pt and a 6 pt. Extremely quiet today. Haven't even seen a squirrel.
Headed up north tomorrow after work and staying near the property with a bunch of my hunting buddies to get an early start on opening day of gun season. A few of them already punched some tags during bow season, so hopefully there's some good activity this weekend.
"Get woke, go broke." Gotta wonder who thought a good vierwership strategy was to alienate your base of viewer support. Did they think lefties would suddenly say "gee golly, looks like they are fair and balanced after all"?
No. A Republican governor and legislature wouldn't get rid of the NYuSA.
If you cut NY into two states, with everything south of Rockland and Westchester, inclusive, becoming NY State and everything north becoming the State of Albania, then Albania's legislature MIGHT get rid of the NYuSA...
Yup. There are definitely factory .327 Mag, .32 Mag, and .500 Mag rifles though.
Edit: dammit man, now I'm down the rabbit hole of figuring out how to get my hands on a single-shot .327 Fed Mag rifle. It'd make an awesome little plinker and small game hunting rifle with the weaker .32s. I could...
Let's play a game. Name a chambering you can think of for which a handgun is chambered and no rifle (that you know of) is chambered.
I'll start: .25 ACP
Agree with you until the denouncing white supremacy part. The people that don't like him because "he's wacist" wouldn't have been conviced he's not "wacist" if he stabbed a neo-Nazi through the heart with a spoon on live TV because all of the TV they watch tells them he's "wacist". Any contrary...
That's what checks and balances in government are for. If the Republicans keep the Senate as it looks like they will, they should be able to exercise their power to limit him. If a Republican Senate is willing to sell out gun owners, we have much bigger problems than Trump losing this election...
Well, for me this election was the exception in that I didn't vote third party. I figure my presidential vote doesn't ever matter anyway. This time, I just hoped I could contribute to a Trump electoral AND popular vote win. Unless the Republican candidate is a rockstar or all the third party...
They're a great whipping post for whoever loses. I remember in 2016 when the Dems blamed the Green Party lady and Johnson for Clinton's loss. In the runup to the NY gubernatorial race, Larry Sharpe's Facebook posts always had Republicans dressing down all the Libertarians preemptively for...
Win or lose, life goes on and there will be other elections. That said, Trump came in on the promise to drain the swamp. How much of that he's managed to do is debatable. It's a big MFing swamp. I can only hope that if there's fraud going on that his efforts bring it to light
I also doubt this...
Man, stop buying dies and buy a press. For what you spent on dies you don't have a press for, buy this and get a big, bench mounted press later: Lee Hand Press Kit | Cabela's
Some people will go along, but lots of the workers have spouses who also work and wouldn't be able to get jobs at all down in Troy, Alabama. They told me I'd be guaranteed a job down there if I applied because they loved my performance and I maintained my professionalism and bearing when they...
That's been in the works for a couple of years now. I worked for them for a few months early last year. I left a job I hated to work there. It was a great time, but my coworkers all pretty much told me not to get too comfortable, so I got ready for a short tenure.
Sure enough, I got the axe in...
Actually, I just recently (last month) encountered a situation where cases turned out to be very important. So I bought some factory Hornady 300 grain XTP in .44 magnum. I shot the 2 boxes (40 rds). They felt pretty hot for factory ammo. Much more recoil than my handloads with the same bullet...
I tried to just turn it off and go to sleep last time, but I ended up staying up til the deal was sealed and little was left of my bottle of James E. Pepper 1776 Bourbon.
Speaking of which, I guess I should get to work securing a bottle of said Bourbon before November 3rd.
As far as grip and concealability goes, it's all about body build, position, and holster, I think. A G35 (same grip as G17) prints like crazy on me worn at 3:00 where the G19 barely printed at all there and a G27 grip didn't print. For reference, I'm 5'7 and was about 200 lbs at the time when I...
You say you wouldn't care about caliber – The cheapest lever actions are .22 LR and go for about $300. If you want something more substantial, Black Aces Tactical makes a 12 gauge lever-action shotgun for around $400. That's about as cheap as I've seen a levergun that will put a hole bigger than...
I'm not holding my breath even if the Republicans own the House, Senate, Presidency, and SCOTUS.
That said, yes, people would get caught up not following local laws. It would still be an improvement. You are always responsible for knowing the law. I would love to be able to carry into NJ or NYC...
I'm in the deep blue here, and I see very little excitement for Biden. It isn't the charged atmosphere like with Trump/Hillary. There isn't a sense of hype pushing for the "first woman president/most qualified candidate in US history/etc BS". The people I know are voting for Biden are doing so...
Did you already buy the ammo components (bullet, sabot/patch, powder)? To not mislead you on my knowledge, I'm honestly no pro on muzzleloading rifles. I've shot a few (1 each antique, replica, and modern) and did a lot of research when I considered buying one. But when it comes to black powder...
Damn, that thing is sweet. Like a semi-auto version of a hot-rodded .45 Colt. Just buy it and register it as a single shot. Not like your follow-up shots would ever qualify as rapid-fire.
Gotcha. PM me if you decide to. I'm in Westchester and I'm planning on going squirrel hunting up in Putnam at least once in the next 3 weeks.
As far as safety concerns, magnum primers are no big deal in black powder guns. Black powder is much more forgiving than smokeless and less sensitive to...
Funny how the regs are written. Can't use a 28 gauge shotgun, a .410, or buckshot, but there's nothing but your own common sense and ethics to stop you from taking an underwear gun chambered in .32 ACP bear hunting.
If, for any reason, it would become relevant later in the conversation, I'd rather the cop know and find out that way than to drop that tid-bit later verbally. Some cops are dicks and some are dumbass rookies with a hard-on. Either of those two demographics might not respond well to hearing...
If I'm carrying, I don't say anything. I do, however, put my carry license at the bottom of the deck of cards I hand over. Only been pulled over twice since I started carrying. The first time, I was carrying and did hand over my license. The officer didn't even mention it, just nicely sent me on...
