IMO, there's nothing wrong with stocking up on FMJ. It's makes up more than half of my stock but I do have some softpoints and jacketed hollow points as well. I also try to stock more brass than steel cased depending on the firearm/requirements.
And I'd say 55 or 62 grain is fine for a 1/9...

I'll start looking at the Lansky sharpener. I'm not looking to get a shaving edge on the new blades but they aren't exactly what I'd call sharp.
Some of the Kershaws I've gotten recently were definitely sharper out of the box.
Can't say I've fingered the one from CMMG to directly compare but the one from Anderson I have handled recently seemed just a little bit better than I recall from some others I've tried from the likes of Colt, RRA and Stag. Of course, those examples were a few years ago.
