Yeah agreed. They probably could have just used a railed rear sight block similar to the occam defense rsb on their proven ak 100 series rifles. Or a rail similar to a polish beryl. Instead they put the optic and rear sight on a dust cover which isn’t all that stable. It seems money for the...
For sale:
NY Safe act compliant VEPR rifle chambered in 7.62x39. This rifle is no longer imported into the US and probably will never be imported again. As a result these rifles are rare as well as valuable. I’ve seen them go for $4000 to $5000 on gunbroker.

Greetings fellow NY-ers,
How bout our governor? Anyways I wanted to share this product. It’s a fake flash hider/“ny barrel extension.” It’s essentially a block of steel machined to resemble an A2 flash hider. Mine is pinned and welded to a saiga for a barrel length over 16 inches. The exit hole...
Hello all!
Anyone have experience with the Troy industries SPR straight pull rifle? I’m kinda interested for a few reasons.
-light weight
-folding stock
-100% safe act complaint and hard to ban in the future
I owned their PAR (pump action) about 6 years ago. It was really nice BUT the pump...
Have to fix the damn mag with a compmag. But very cool!! PSA is killing it! I’ve always wanted a krink.
The vz58 pistols kinda interest me. Stripper fed pistol would be fine by me.

-Yes Tula and wolf along with maybe 100 brass cases lawman
-Glock factory. I tried magpul but I didn’t like the way they load steel cases ammo. No malfunctions just super sticky. They were fine with brass cased.
-I sighted it in resting on a pickup truck hood at 50 yards. Decent groups I...
Might have been me. Not sure. Turns out it is a RAK9 and not a NAK9. Whoops! Anyways, runs like a sewing machine. No problems. I probably have 1k through it.
Is that the guy at “ny legal firearms”? He’s good sh*t.
For optics mounting check out the occam defense RST. About as simple and solid as kalash mounting can get I have an AK at sellrain getting one installed now.
Oh and that’s a sweet Russian lady ya got there
It is the year of the ak for sure!! As far as NY compliance goes it’s tough...I find saiga configurations are the easiest on the eyes. The one I have below has a “ny barrel extension” not a flashhider. No holes. There’s also the VZ-58 Liberty rifle. It’s absolutely not a kalashnikov variant but...

I would call a saiga a solid “do it all” rifle!
I’m a huge fan of the Sig Romeo 5 red dot. I have 4 of them. Same specs as an aimpoint...auto on auto off. I saw some YouTube video where a guy was torture teasing the Romeo 5. He even shot it with birdshot. For the money I think they are great.
Ultimaks seem to be the most robust option...only down side is you can’t remove for cleaning. My rifle felt front heavy with a red dot on it because it is in “saiga” unconverted form.
Very cool...it was installed by lee armory I assume they leveled it. I haven’t taken it off I just use a shotgun cleaning kit to clean the gas tube. I tried mounting a red dot on it...it turned out to be really front heavy. Now I use an rs side mount. Good info tho I’ll have to check Troy out...
He might LOOK majestic but don’t let him fool you. He still brings dingle berries in the house after he does his business outside. Every once in awhile I will find one where he slept.
Agreed. Rs and Midwest make nice stout side rails. My experience with ARs and steel cased ammo was less than impressive. My ak in 223/556 has no malfunctions and it has never tasted brass.
It’s a tad nose heavy but only because of the Midwest side mount and the forward optic. There isn’t a real piston up top just a short counter weight for the blow back design.
Right on! I have a few ARs and now more AKs. ARs are superior in a lot of ways. Accuracy, optics mounting, price (yes price)...the list goes on. With that said I enjoy shooting AKs more and I think the AKs (especially saigas) make a better featureless rifle. I really like my 223 saiga. Steel...
