I think it was awesome that they mentioned Tokarev, Simonov and Sudayev. I wonder if the friendly competition between Sudayev and Kalashnikov was accurate.

Occam Defense is good stuff. If I do another AK from parts again I think I’ll go the SAG route.

What kind of set up do you have? I have a HF 12 ton press, AK builder tools/jigs and a couple of Robert Forbus tools. I built the AKS74U in my profile pic back around 2013 with Toth tools. I sold off all the tools thinking that was the only AK I would ever build since you couldn't exactly buy them for cheap or get them brace ready back then. I got the itch to do it again late last year. I love it.
I have a sweet Polish underfolder kit 1981 all matching serials but I'm torn if I want to build it it's so nice. Parts kits are actually worth more than the rifle put together for some odd reason and I have a feeling they are going to skyrocket soon. While deciding on that I think for funsies I want to build a 556 AK with a Beryl system for that huge and rock solid sight radius.

Yeah agreed. They probably could have just used a railed rear sight block similar to the occam defense rsb on their proven ak 100 series rifles. Or a rail similar to a polish beryl. Instead they put the optic and rear sight on a dust cover which isn’t all that stable. It seems money for the redesign made it into pockets and not the gun. Very unlike kalashnikov concern/izhmash.The Ak12 sucks

Another issue seems to that they're putting all these rails and such on the rifles but aren't even using force multipliers on them.

I know a Russian propaganda was put out for the reason we aren't seeing optics on AK12s is because it's operators choice and most choose not to add the weight of an optic because it doesn't offer enough advantages over irons

For those weird AK fans.. KUSA 103 sporter
Kalashnikov USA just announced the "KOMMANDER 103" its a sporterized version of their 103.. aka it's a saiga sporter clone. Downside is it has a threaded barrel (easy to pin/weld the included muzzle nut) Haven't found it on their website yet or a price will update when I do.
