I've changed my thinking on this

I hope the rally turns into a shitshow and completely overwhelms the authorities and they are forced to put their tail between their legs, admit defeat and remove the law. It would be a strong warning to future legislators of the type of response they will receive if they do something similar.

Carrying signs and yelling won't cut it, the politicians aren't going to change their minds unless they see genuine anger on a massive scale.

How you accomplish that, I don't know.

And when they don't change their minds and pass the legislation anyway, they need to be tarred, feathered, and run out of town on a rail.

Maybe if you'd stand out in the cold like the rest of us with a pro second amendment sign, you'd understand what being a true patriot of your country means.

Nothing is going to get done unless we let our county representatives know that it's unconstitutional laws that the governor is trying to pass. It's not like they know already what is going on. That and send lots of emails to our senators. They will read them and it will make a big difference.

We've had enough, and you can either sit there telling us there's no hope and light at the end of the tunnel, or you can start tracing out an m-16 on some plywood and heading to home depot for black spray paint so you can rise up against the tyranny and make a difference.

Cops aren't going to shoot them for damaging a fence, Say they arrested a few guys clipping the fence , Now what? Are they going to try to arrest people that are armed and non compliant? A lot of cops and people are going to die . the police might have to stand down if that happens, one wrong move could set off a tragedy.

The best thing the people in Virginia can do is identify the drop off spots where the busses unload and film and document it , This happened in Charlottesville where people saw KKK and Antifa coming off the same busses.

Ten patriots across by ten deep, unarmed, could not be stopped from moving through the checkpoint onto the capital grounds. Unless fired upon. Most of the new fencing is inside the wrought iron perimeter fence in order to funnel and group people on the grounds.
This type of action should continue with movement directly towards the governors office. Not to wish harm. But let the governor order security to fire on unarmed citizens. Unarmed and in his face.

OK, thinking about all this, it's obvious we need to change our tactics. Screw the "announce to the world exactly what we're going to do ahead of time" model. The right way to handle this stuff in the future is to build a background network so we can "flash mob" whatever venue we choose on a short time frame. I question the massive "buffalo jump" (h/t Matt Bracken) approach this has turned into, as it allows the enemy to shape the battlefield to almost guarantee we lose somehow. Instead of set piece battles, we need to master political guerrilla warfare. The left gets away with these massive rallies because they have the tacit agreement of the political establishment, and the press. We need to be nimble and outthink them in a PR sphere.

That is a good point. There will undoubtedly be police helicopters circling the area, so perhaps it's just to keep the airspace clear for them to observe and not because of some deeper nefarious reason. However, what about news helicopters? I am sure they will have to be allowed.
