I have been wanting to upgrade my Shield mags with these for a while. Something else always comes money wise however. I will not increase the length of the magazine however so I would only want the +1 version. With the extended magazine the Shield's grip is as long as the Glock 19's grip so I may as well carry it at this point. Gun width affects IWB comfort but grip length is what affects concealablity. I carry the Shield when I feel it especially important that I am not made out to be carrying. I am considering a P365 XL as a go between CCW but its way down the list. I now consider a 5.56 "pistol" as a critical priority. No idea how I can make it happen before the election given my financial situation but I feel a very strong need for one before November. I'll have to fix and sell my Garand and my PPQ I think.
Why?
Everything in that kit looks like stamped metal. Spring, follower and base plate. I'd have to see it to be sure but I would worry about the follower bending when contacting the slide on the last round. I'd also question the reliability of the spring pushing those last few rounds up with reduced pressure.
They use spring steel, they changed the follower to a more OEM like polymer version and I fail to see how a helical spring differs from a flat spring in terms of exterting less and less pressure as it expands throughout its length. Any kind of vertical spring does that, you just spec the fully extended tension to be sufficent for yhe application's need.
I don't know if the parts are stamped but they probably are and there is notging wrong with stamped parts as long as yge parts are properly engineered and spec'd to do what is required of them. MP-40, MP-5, G3, AKM, AK74, AR18/180- all stamped all legendary guns. Manufacturing process doesn't matter, engineering and quality control do.
I have no problem with MIM parts. MIM is a great manufacturing method, Glocks have MIM parts. Ruger revolvers are cast.
If you ever get one let me know. for $25 I'm sceptical and curious about the quality.

Thanks. I was iffy but now I’m getting them for my Ruger LCP 2.
I have not gotten a kit for my lcp custom because when I searched the net I found some guys did have trouble with them. I am not willing to commit to shoot it enough rounds to feel comfortable with it. For me to be confident it would require about 500 rounds, not a magic number by any means. Just be sure to test it enough to be confident, after all 7 for sure is better than 8 maybe.
