This beauty is possibly up for grabs but the wife of the deceased owner is not accepting low ball offers. Can anyone help me with a value range?

The barrel is not original, it’s High Standard. There’s some slop in the trigger. Someone clearly tried refinishing it as well. According to what we found, it was made in 1914 and issued (its has the ordnance acceptance mark).

Help! I want this.

The picture does it no justice. It’s mint. It’s probably one of the top 1970’s Python’s in existence.

That 1911 is a $500 shooter in my opinion, being in the condition it is in, I personally wouldn't want it.

As far as the Python, I think they are way over priced for what they are and for what I use them for.

But every one has their likes & dislikes, that's what makes gun collecting fun.

The 1911 will go for over 1k on the broker. It’s nit worth it but people will overpay for old issued 1911’s. The refinishing kills the value as we know.

And the 1911 is 1K all day to a collector, easy to restore. Offer was about $2800
light of market values imo.

Yes. most everyone is willing to pay over $4k for a python.

Would i pay that for it? No. But that does not change the value of it.

If i had “extra “ cash i might. But i would worry that they make a “new version” this killing the original “value”

$2800.00 is realistic today for a 6" python in that condition in todays market. I paid $2000.00 fo mine in same condition and similar vintage 5 years ago. The 1911 $800.00-$1000.00. I also have a 1911 from 1919. A Colt. Also US Army issued and stamped. it's in almost mint condition and all origional. I was offered $3500.00 fo it and turned it down. Just as a comparison.

On the other end, Master Class in Monroe has (or had as of a week or two ago) a 1944 vintage Colt National Match bullseye gun that hasn't moved in a few months at $750. The previous owner installed a rail on the slide (ouch!).
