After doing a lot of research on different training facilities and instructors I am glad to say I am extremely satisfied with the instruction of Mr. DeWalt and his team from OnSight Firearms Training. This was the 1st class I take with my pistol and I was nervous of the what my performance could be. However, Mr, DeWalt and his team made me feel extremely comfortable and just after a few short drills I could see an improvement. The day started at 9:30am and after the range was setup and a safety briefing was held we were on the line and doing proper draw and re-holsters techniques. At this time Mr. DeWalt and his team went around and showed us where we could improve and what we could do better. Shortly after that we were on the line once again and doing more drills. These drills consisted of firing from 3, 5, 7, 10, 15, and 25 yard lines. At each of these drills Mr. DeWalt and his team were always there to quickly and efficiently answer your questions and show you what you could be improving. That alone was worth so much because I was a bit intimidated when looking for this type of training. Another intimidating factor was the 25 yard line. Before today I had never tried to reach out and accurately shoot from that distance. But once again, Mr. DeWalt and his team were there every step of the way to guide you to become more confident and efficient. We also did the "same hole drill" where your partner would take one shot and you would try to land it in the same area or in the same hole. That was one of my favorite drills because it really allowed me to put together and have a better understanding. We concluded the afternoon with a few timed sessions of 5 rounds and 10 rounds a various distances that was also a lot of fun. Keep in mind this is just a small window at everything that got covered in the class. There is much, much more covered in class. I can't thank Mr. DeWalt and his team at OnSight Firearms Training enough for providing top of the line training, and exceptional instructor/student interactions. I would recommend anyone to sign up for one of his classes regardless of your experience level. You will not be disappointed and remember there is always room for improvement.
