Here's an opening day story. My janitor told me her brother went out Wednesday (Michigan's opening day) shot the biggest deer of his life an 8 point. Decided not to tag it. Threw it in his truck, on the way home a DNR officer was following him and saw blood on his tailgate. Pulled him over, took the deer, his gun and gave him a ticket for $3000. Told him he will probably loose his hunting privileges for at least 5 years. Over a damn deer, dumbass!!!

Wow, that sucks! That's something I was NEVER willing to risk. Every year in my area a few dumbasses do the same thing. It's just not worth it.

Sorry he got caught, but shit happens.
A friend out here. Shot a huge buck in his horse pasture a few years ago, the biggest he ever shot.
A anti-hunting lesbian neighbor heard the shot and looked out and saw him come out of
His barn and drag it back to his barn. She called 911 and a sheriff came rolling in and he contacted the Washington state game department.they were being a complete asshole about it.
All said & done the only thing they had on him was he didn,t have orange clothing on. They fined him a large sum of money and confinscated the antlers so he couldn,t get them mounted.
Shit happens.

Good luck guys, only about six hours until shooting time. We will be doing breakfast at 5:30 and then walk out back of my oldest sons place at 6.30 to our standing spots.
I,'ll be checking on here starting at 7 to see what's happening.
Hopefully there will be a bunch of coyotes killed tomorrow, a bunch of good size deer and no human injurys.
I,d like to see what my ruger 77/357 with the 158 grain jacketed soft points do on a deer.
But then again only a small percentage will be successful.

Seen 2 doe so far but nothing I could get a clean shot at. First thing this morning the Kilowog and Marathon fire alarm went off and so did a shit load of coyotes. Was hoping to kill a couple but they wouldn't come out of the brush.
Saw 7 doe and took a spike that i thought i was a small 6. It’s head was behind some branches that looked like more points. I’ll post a pic soon.

I heard the alarms go off too. Marathon's went off twice. Must be they didn't get the response they needed. All I saw was a lone bed. Prolly kicked one up walking up the hill. The GF shot at a small buck but missed. Her son txted and said he had a 8pt down. Haven't seen pics yet.

My oldest son got a non typical 9 point, the other son got a spike a little after 8. Can,t get pictures to up load off of my phone
fucking NYC, LI , and NJ hunters.
waiting on pictures of the dog you shot!
They’re never small, I just don’t wait for the racks. My time for hunting is limited and it’s always a long drive. Gotta fill that freezer!

Finely figured it out, i,'ll be going back out in an hour or so.
We will be setting up two trail cameras on the gut piles to see how long it takes for stuff to start feeding on them. We gutted them out at a spot in the pasture where we can shoot from the house. It about a 120 yard shot from the house to the gut pile.

Good eating right there, I like the back straps cut in to 1/4" thick chops done in butter in a cast iron frying pan with a little garlic, salt & pepper.
I,m back out sitting until dark.
We do that too. I like making them like that, then putting them in a grilled cheese.

Well...I must hang my head in shame
I missed an easy shot at a beautiful 8pt. 100yds and nothing between me and him. All my fault, I took some ammo that I didn't check where it's POI was with my AR.
I still took an hour just to be sure it was a miss. He never knew where the shot came from and stopped a few times going through the woods where he looked around.
Tomorrow morning I'm taking my 22-250 that I know exactly where it shoots.

I make a dry rub with pepper, garlic, onion and a few other seasonings and spices. Cook up in a pan with butter. Yum.

That sucks when you gun doesn,t hit where you are aiming, my son was going use his tiger 77/280 but it wasn,t hitting for some reason so he took his 264 caliber out this morning.
I shot my ruger 77/357 yesterday up in old forge after flying back here with it from Washington state, straight on. Just need some thing in front of it, be it a deer or a coyote.

Damn, I had my rifle on my shoulder and was almost in my sons house and the screw came out of the front of the stock and the barrel slammed the concrete sidewalk.
We took it apart, cleaned it, put locktite on the screw and put it back together. Now i have to put a few rounds through the tube to see if it,s still going to shoot straight.

I took two Shots with the rifle just before we went out around 75 yards,one in the bullseye and the other about 1/2 inch to the right. Now just see a deer with in range.
