The left cuts back on its absolute idiocy to try and fire up for 2020, couple more mass shootings, maybe a good school shooting in there too, over all the U.S. economy continues its upward trend, but it will be reported the opposite.

I think the Russia thing will either completely backfire on the dems or will putter out by it's own ridiculousness.
Something has to happen with North Korea. Probably some level of armed conflict. They aren't giving up their nukes and we can't back pedal.
The societal divides will continue to get larger. If there ends up being a major war, who knows how bad things could get here.
Stock market will continue to do well.
My gun collection will also continue to grow.

The political substrata is working overtime in their quest to unseat Trump making the public political scene too volatile. Because of that, things are much more fragile than they seem. Trump needs help big time in the form of an Attorney General that is willing to face the national press at its worst and go on the attack.
Will it happen? I don't know, but until some measures are taken in that direction and a stake is put in the heart of the deep state there will be no less threat to the future our republic than if Barry Hussain was still in office.

I think trump is doing a very commendable and heroic job "buying us time" but he is fighting an uphill battle against a rigged system that doesn't want to give us their power.
We need trump to be as successful as possible to slow down the deep state and the communist infiltration.
If/when the next leftist ideologue gets power they will try to finish what Obama started.

I predict that Mueller and his team will drag the investigation on through out the year and then coordinate selected leaks with the NY times and Washington post as we get closer to the mid term elections. This will be a full court press attempt to swing enough seats to gain control of at least the house if not the senate. I believe the strategy is currently being mapped out between "journalists " and people on Mueller 's staff.

I'm terrible at making predictions but here goes:
1) I think the radical progressive left (Antifa, BLM, Pussy-hat wearing man haters, those who see racism/sexism/Islamophobia in every interaction) will continue to go full retard even though the leaders of the Democratic Party will try to reign them in so they can win mid-terms. They will be largely unsuccessful. Watch for riots/looting as the weather warms up.
2) Regardless of the above I think the Dems will pick up seats at least in the House and perhaps the Senate. GOP may still hold a slim majority in Congress. The Dems and their pals in the Mainstream Media will continue to brainwash the sheep so that's how they'll vote.
3) No new gun control at the federal level but not much to loosen up existing laws either.
4) Stricter gun control at the state level, especially in Blue and Purple States.
5) Stock Market and economy will continue to do well, at least in the short term, interest rates will rise.
6) Some sort of international incident involving Iran, or more likely, North Korea. US will likely intervene in some capacity.
7) Right Wing/Conservatives will gain traction in Europe as the refugee crisis continues. Some modest reforms will be made from coalition governments, though, likely not enough to halt the inevitable.
And now my optimistic prediction of the 2018:

Well, the issue right now is that the dems are fired up after 2016. We're not talking mentally stable people here. We're talking people who literally were in tears because they could not envision a world in which they didn't get their way. The most unifying thing about liberals right now, is they're ALL pissed off at non-liberal America.
The GOP, on the other hand, is too busy eating itself with RINOs that it's been neglecting giving a fuck about a ripe base for the picking -- namely, younger Americans, now grown up and paying taxes / starting families / etc, who have financial concerns for the first times in their lives. These are voters that are wrestling with how exactly to achieve the America dream. How are they going to buy a house when there aren't starter homes? How are they going to send their kids to college with the rising cost of education? How are they going to even afford to have kids when you need two parents working full time?
Instead, the GOP is hoping to milk the dicks of the baby boomers for one more time for another election win, while ignoring or flat out putting aside the futures of younger generations who will never see the light of day from any of these unsustainable programs they're paying into. There is only so many times the boomers can come for them and give them another election win. They need to expand their base.
So why aren't conservatives winning over younger voters, generally? I think it comes down a few reasons, but here are a few ideas that come to mind:
- They're clinging a little too hard to a very conservative social policy. A lot of people I know who are fiscally conservative don't share the social values of the GOP. We're more akin to libertarians. I don't think the war on drugs is really working or is a good use of taxpayer money, and I don't really give a damn about who @Darth loves in the privacy of his own home; even if that person looks like Zangeif from street fighter.
- Say what you will about liberals, but their message on how to move forward is consistent. Free shit. Big Bern and his free shit printing machine were a huge force this last election on the left. It's flawed, wrong, and bankrupt of things like economic sense and individual freedom, but it's a consistent message from the left: "You'll get more money because we'll just magically make free shit appear."
I don't really see a unified plan from the right, nor do I feel like a lot of these RINOs in the GOP have even been following economic conservatism. I want to know how I'm going to have more money in my pocket, and how we're going to be moving towards prosperity for my (potential) future children. I want to see the GOP get their shit together and send a coherent message, and I don't want that message to come from a man who looks like Cecil Turtle. - Conservatism in general has a bit of an image problem. It's viewed as something for the old, and not the young. And that's coming from me, someone who is conservative leaning.
I think we're starting to finally see, in some places, an outlet for the sort of clean modern simplicity in production and presentation that millenials and younger generations seek out. Colion Noir and Black Rifle Coffee Company for example have these sort of clean, young aesthetic going on, while still putting forth conservative topics or agendas -- just to name a few that come to mind. That's what I want to really see more of: younger, hip presentations of conservatism.
If the GOP seriously makes some inroads with younger generations, they'll give the dems a serious run for their money and take away a crucial part of their base. I just don't see a clear effort on their part to make that happen yet.
