Good luck pheasant hunting BDinPutnam. Bird hunting is one of my favorite hunts. Do you have a hunting dog? It's a kinda difficult to hunt pheasant without a good dog (been there, done that.)Nice!
Ordered my license last week. Looking forward to it- I added turkey (mostly for Spring) this year. Going to try and go pheasant hunting a day or two as well.
Good luck to everyone. ( I need to find time to go purchase my tags.)

Im in the process of training my dog on birds right now. Thanks @mak00. I'm thinking about going to one of the preserves kind of near me that provides a guide and dog. Anyone ever been? I've done my share of small and big game but this would be my first time out for upland, my father in law and I were thinking it would be a nice afternoon out after (hopefully) filling our deer tags during the week before/of Thanksgiving.
ETA I have an English Pointer mix but we got her when we lived in the city so she never got trained = useless for hunting, lol:

Depends on what the dog likes to eat.My license and tags came in the other day and I've been too busy to open them.
Question- my father in law and I are thinking of going on a guided pheasant hunt (guide with a dog). What's the guideline for a gratuity on that for the guide? It would be four hour hunt.
Stay away from them.I got mine last week. I missed the dreaded 9P but choose 9A as a back up. I got 9A. Also found out my buddy likely won’t get his license so I’ll be hunting alone again. The drunk up the hill his nephew says he’s going to hunt his uncles land this year. That take away about 35 acres for me to hunt on and he’s a drunk. So bad they can barely talk every time we meet them. They are loud and party all night. Doesn’t look good this year. Glad I just spent $700 on a new shotgun so my broke buddy could use my old one.
I certainly try my best. This guy is a disaster. He’s nice and let’s us use his land. He has a pond with tons of frogs and newts my kids love it.Stay away from them.
Happy Birthday @MoManWOO-FRIGGIN-HOOOOOOOOOOO!! Ol' MO turned 65 last Sunday, and now qualifies for his senior license down here.
$12, includes EVERYTHING; hunting, fishing buck tag, 2 doe tags (and extra doe tags, if I want them after my 1st 2 are filled!!), turkey, bow, muzzleloader, EVERYTHING!!!
Nice shooting! Now if you can just get him to stop for the camera30 yards elevated from my deck (just a little lower than my stand height). Even shot the fletch off one of my arrows....again. Big bruiser is as good as marinated View attachment 51951 View attachment 51952 View attachment 51953 .
