I bought a large two seater with kick outs on each side. It’s fairly large. Also I have a crossbow with a crank so it won’t be an issue for me. I can shoot out 3/4 of the blind.

I bought a bigger blind. I’ll probably set up a tree stand as well.
I pretty much just use a half-blind or natural cover when I hunt deer with a firearm.
Senior Sportsman's License - Available only to Kentucky residents. Includes Combination Hunting and Fishing License, all Deer Permits, Spring Turkey Permit, Resident Fall Turkey Permit, Kentucky Migratory Bird/Waterfowl Permit and Trout Permit. Must be 65 or older.
Total cost, a whopping $12.
And the antler mass on the deer down here is incredible. Most down here will not take anything less than a large 6 or 8 pointer, unless it is a youth hunt.
As an example, this is the 6 pointer I took down here (some would call it a 7 point, but it's a stretch!!):
I had him mounted because he was the 1st buck I've taken down here. I passed on a ton of bucks before taking this 1 that year. I was hunting a nice 10 pointer we had on a camera, but he only showed a glimpse during daylight hours, and no shot available. This 1 came in with about 1/2 hr left on the last day. I folded him right up at just under 200 yds, with my HOWA 1500, in .308!
Yea, our licenses are well worth it, even if not at senior level, because there is no additional fee, or draw for doe permits, we are allowed a total of 4 deer, with the basic hunting license, BUT only 1 can be a buck. Cost $95. Then you can buy additional doe tags, good for 2 doe for $15. The doe can be taken anywhere in the state, for the most part. There are no DMU, etc. down here.

I've heard so many stories of guys having deer walk up on them while taking a leak/crap and they left their gun elsewhere that I never go anywhere without it in my hand. It hasn't paid off yet, but it also hasn't cost me anything yet either.Got a look at my first shooter buck tonight.
He waited til dark and walked directly under my stand sniffing the doe estrus. Surprised me as I was taking an end of the hunt pee in a jug .
Pissed all over my leg trying to get a better look at him.

I’ve had my set up outside in my yard all week to get the funky smell out of it. I sprayed it with odor neutralizer and it’s tamed now so I should be good. High winds tomorrow so I’ll break it down.

Since I hunt in land that is open to other hunters, I’m disinclined to set up anything long-term. I’ve invested a lot of time scouting different spots and I don’t want to give that away.

Now I dont feel so bad. Combine this with not great hunting land, me having no one to help in person, and being a “young” hunter. I’ve learned a lot these past two seasons and I’m hoping I can connect this weekend with a buck or a doe.Want to bag a trophy buck? Avoid these U.S. States.

My parents and the next guy up the road are working on their cabins and making all sorts of noise so not the best either.

I love hunting the Southwestern ADK's , plenty of land just no deer but my gun and scenery sure are pretty.

There are deer around just not many bucks at all. There’s so much cover and bedding in my parents property it’s hard to know where the deer will be. No food for them so it’s always a guess. Many deer trails. Seem I set up here and they walk through over there or are in very thick bedding and I just see the shite tail flicking. Someday I’ll get it right.
Just pisses me off my mom saw more deer on her walk and she is not quiet at all.

I’m heading out tomorrow at 2pm to get my blind set up before dark. I’ll do a few doe bleats and possibly a grunt at the point where I heard two bucks locking horns last weekend. Damn sun was in my eyes and I just couldn’t see them. I was close, real close walking down a grass path quietly. I’m hunting a heavily trafficked path in the morning and my stand in the afternoon/evening.

Tracking a doe my buddy hit this afternoon. We ll see.
The server let me add the 9 sec. clip. This was yesterday, he was a slow mover milled around for quite a while before leaving.
Had another fork in spitting distance tonight. Different stand bout a mile away. Thats 3 forks in two days. Havnt seen a doe in a month.

I had a nice doe walk passed me this morning but by the time I got eyes on her I had no shot. A tree and brush was in the way. I did a bleat at her and she stopped and looked, but then slowly walked away. Nothing else and not hopeful for this afternoon hunt. Someone is shooting away up the hill and someone else is riding a 4-wheeler all over the logging roads here. Hope they didn’t steal my blind.
Funny shit is I’m always in the wrong spot. If I was in my tree stand she would have walked right by me, but I was in my blind this morning.
Tons of doe bleating all around me, but none came over to say hi. A few responses and even a grunt back, but I think the buck saw me move to call back. I thought he was further away.

I saw two more deer this morning but no shot. I’ve was small and walked in a straight line. The other deer was big and had the body shape of the buck. I was looking to my side and heard a noise. Looked up and it’s head was already in the woods. I moved my blind so I have a better view. Risky since it’s more exposed but does me no good to see deer if I can’t ever get a shot.
Now I’m sure I’ll see no deer. Also if I saw the big one sooner I’d have had a shot, slow meander across the creek angling slightly away from me.

I’m actually waiting for this happen to me. I have a spot I’d like to put a tree stand, but I won’t because the beavers in my area. Hopefully that situation will be remedied soon.
