That’s a hot year for you. The heat makes those peppers grow for sure.Yeah, Hot peppers are doing exceptionally well this year !
I’ll have enough Jalapeño, serrano and Portuguese peppers to pickle , dehydrated and make a couple dozen bottles of green chili hot sauce this year.
My pear tree is bare this year. Last year we had more than we knew what to do with. The opposite is true for our peach tree. Last year, nothing. This year, we were loaded with them and ended up blanching, pealing, and freezing a LOT.Best year yet for my pear tree, juicy, delicious and there are a ton of them!!!! Anyone have any recipe's for pear dishes?

i believe that today we will be harvesting the kiwis. Curious to see what we actually have on the vine as it’s taken many years to get to the point of being able to harvest. Hopefully photos to come later.
If one of my trees didn't produce a bunch of delicious cherries for the first time this year, I would probably never plant something that takes that long again. It requires Taliban level patience.@TEOTWAWKI inc. at a minimum it’s 3 yrs. but supposedly once they get going it should be abundant. Like 50 lbs of fruit per vine.
Mine is two years old and growing like a monster. Looking forward to next year !@TEOTWAWKI inc. at a minimum it’s 3 yrs. but supposedly once they get going it should be abundant. Like 50 lbs of fruit per vine.
I’ve got a couple of extra large zucchini and some spaghetti squash if you’re interested in trading.plums, more than we can use, $3/lb in the stores.
Im going to compost, turn, and mulchFigured this would be a good place to ask how to "close" my garden.
So I moved and my new place had an overgrown garden. I weed whacked it down and tilled it and within days it was a forest of weeds and stuff. Whacked again and raked crap out. My father in law came and helped me till it good because my tiller did a shitty job. Had some plants that did well for being planted late and with my lack of knowledge. Now they are pretty much done for except pumpkins and the entire garden is covered with weeds again.... so I'm asking the garden gurus what I should do to come out in best shape for next spring? Spray something to kill everything growing? Weed whack and till again? Burn everything? Do nothing? I'm very new to gardening if you haven't figured it out and would like to be somewhat prepared for next spring.
