Watch the video! PA's 1-8 got their top pick.I didn’t watch the video but I like this on for my ar10 Primary Arms SLx 1-6x24mm FFP Rifle Scope - Illuminated ACSS-RAPTOR-5.56/.308
He’s banned bruhhhh, he can’t comment lol.
I run the Vortex Razor. Except mine is the more expensive HD Gen III 1-10x. It’s a nice scope.I've been going down this rabbit hole lately and wondering is anyone has experience with, or owns any of the optics mentioned?
Also I don't see it mentioned but any feed back on the Swampfox Arrowhead or Tomahawk?
Heard nothing but good things about the Razor. Unfortunately its out of my price rangeI run the Vortex Razor. Except mine is the more expensive HD Gen III 1-10x. It’s a nice scope.
He doesn’t own an lpvo. He hasn’t bought one yet. There’s a few good options. What’s your price range?Heard nothing but good things about the Razor. Unfortunately its out of my price range

I do like the Vortex line up at that price point.you can also check out the 1-6x line of Vortex Vipers.
This will be just a range toy for me for the most part. Not looking for duty grade. More im just getting bored with red dots and want to explore something with a bit more capabilityBut I will also say that with lpvo’s it’s kinda hard to skimp on them and also get really good quality. If you want a really good quality optic, you pretty much want at least a $1k budget to start. If you’re able to save some the Razor Gen II’s are good. There’s other options in that price range as well.
I hear ya. So skimping on lpvo’s isn’t quite the same as doing it in red dots, I don’t agree with doing either if possible but that’s not always feasible. But for skimping on lpvo’s, one of the largest factors is glass quality. Cheap red dots usually have kinda crappy glass and some kinda sub par reticle but at 1x and for quick shooting it works ok. When you get cheap lpvo’s you get lower quality glass which really affects how the lpvo is usable for the shooter. Which can turn someone off to lpvo’s quickly and make them think they suck…when really they just have a crappy optic. Cheap ones tend to have bulky housings that takes up a ton of fov, mushy turrets for wind age/elevation adjustment that also don’t track correctly to their desired measurements, glass quality with degrading light transmission, lack of the 1x magnification setting be a true 1x, the edge distortion is higher on lower quality lpvo’s and give you the fisheye effect. This will be just a range toy for me for the most part. great stuff, thanks for the advice!I hear ya. So skimping on lpvo’s isn’t quite the same as doing it in red dots, I don’t agree with doing either if possible but that’s not always feasible. All those things possibly going against you, it’s very easy to buy a cheap one to see if you like it, just to be turned off to lpvo’s and get the notion that you don’t like them when really you’re not giving it a fair shake. It’s much more expensive on the manufacturing level to build a higher quality scope than it is a red dot or holographic sight. With all that said, I’m not saying go and buy a top of the line lpvo but just realize that if you do buy a budget lpvo, that there might be something that you don’t like and that “something” is most likely specifically to that optic itself and not lpvo’s as a whole.
I prefer FFP for lpvo’s that go down to 1x. I don’t want the reticle taking up my entire fov when I’m running at 1x like an sfp does. The main reason for choosing an lpvo that’s a 1-*something*x…is so you can use the 1x like a red dot. I don’t want my stadias being more intrusive than they need to be. When I want to dial up, I can and then I’m still able to use the stadias and lines when I needs/want them. Also all the stadias of the reticle stay correct throughout the range of magnification. So say you know your dope and you know that at 400yd you have to hold a certain amount. With an ffp, you can use those lines no matter what magnification you’re at. With an sfp, you have to use it only at the highest magnification due to the reticle only being true when it’s cranked up to its highest setting.great stuff, thanks for the advice!
Are you running first or second focal plane? Any preference on one or the other?

I have a burris MTAC 1-4 that I really like.
I wouldn't hesitate to try the Burris RT6.
Your indicated interests imply to me that perhaps you yourself don't quite understand what current LPVOs are used for.hearing those youtubers talk about a lgtbq lpvo non sense sound like listening to plumbers giving opinions and advice on heart bypass surgery.
rapid scopes have been there for decades in hunting scout and big game hunting where speed and accuracy are key, even more critical than a defensive carbine like the ones on top of a dangerous game rifle. This 1x non sense only tells me these youtubers dont have a clue what they are talking about.
A quality rapid scope is a very good choice for many roles and for many reasons.
of course POS glass is garbage rapid or not so one gets what one pays for.
Am I reading that correctly? You’re saying that speed and accuracy are more critical while hunting than in a defensive situation? Cause I’m pretty sure if you’re in a defensive situation, there’s a 100% chance that the person you’re defending against already wants to hurt or kill you (that’s why you’re defending). I’m not saying that it’s not dangerous to hunt some game but more people get killed by other people than any dangerous game ever have by an astronomical margin.hearing those youtubers talk about a lgtbq lpvo non sense sound like listening to plumbers giving opinions and advice on heart bypass surgery.

Great video, I thought that channel looked familiar and they did a similar round-up years ago. For scope newbs like me it's great information and well worth the 17 minute watch. No extra fluff, just awesome bits of information.
