She was crazy. It needed to be done. Then these people became dependent on her money and controlling her. So when she got into a better state of mind , they fought her from regaining control of her life. She became a slave, having to work shows against her will.
But in the beginning, she needed someone to do what they did. She still has a large fortune and is still alive for the actions taken in the beginning. She would have been another cautionary tale of fame if they hadn’t .
But then those people ( her father) became corrupted by the money.
Remember that they had to initially prove to the court that she was crazy. Like a conviction in a court, after she was determined to be crazy by the court, the burden then shifted to her to show she got better. That’s why it was hard for her to get those rights back.

The Bruen case dealt with "May Issue" vs "Shall Issue" in the way states could arbitrarily deny a permit for any reason they choose. Bruen directed the states to issue the permits
It did not directly challenge the law in NY that you must be issued a CCW permit to even buy a handgun, much less carry it. That is what needs to be scrapped in NY.

The standard is quite high. They had to prove she couldn’t care for herself — not just bad money decisions. She was coco for coco puffs at one point . But people can get better.
Again, as antidotal proof of what I am saying , is she lost custody of the kids to K-Fed. Not just physical custody. But custody . If you have had any dealings or know a guy who went through divorce court with kids in the picture, it is unheard of for the mother to lose custody unless there is evidence that she is extremely unfit . Remember she is rich and could have offered to hire a nanny — she still lost the kids .

You are not required to have a concealed carry permit to buy a handgun in NY.
Bruen still allows state to reject concealed Carry permits if the applicant fails to get Good Guy letters or fails the other requirements.

Just to let some readers know, a “ good guy “ letter is proof that a retired police officer retired in good standing. Without it, they don’t get a carry permit in NYS. It’s similar to proof of an honorable discharge from the military.
I disagree with nostar that Bruen allows a rejection for lack of a good guy letter. Bruen is saying you don’t need a good guy letter to get a carry permit . The state would have to show why you are unfit for a carry permit . The reasons why someone didn’t get a good guy letter might be the reason for the denial such as a DA agreed not to prosecute if they retire immediately sort of thing .
Not sure what it is like in YOUR part of NY, but out here there is only ONE permit.
Without it, you cannot even TOUCH a pistol.

There are a few types of permits like a premise permit, a business permit, a target permit etc. . It’s in the law and definitely in practice in a lot of parts of NYS

Bruen decided two things: proper cause is no longer necessary in order to get a concealed carry permit & gun laws need to take into consideration historical perspective. That's it, nothing else. They did not ban requirements for Good Guy letters, bank account checks, written exams, field tests, employer discussions, etc etc.

In all of NYS exist the premise, business and concealed carry permit.
Not take in consideration. But have to show that anything that is pertaining to the 2A it must follow Text as informed by history.

Actually it kind of does. What is the historical context of bank statements and it’s purpose—- to prove that “ cause”.
Basically , the person does not have to show or prove “ good cause” to get a carry permit . Now, such requests may be an invasion of privacy and may be ruled by the lower courts as such.

All of the New York State concealed carry requirements are still 100% valid and legal. The only thing removed by Bruen was the requirement to show "Proper Cause". There is no professional analysis of the ruling that states otherwise.

Wait for after it comes back from being sent back down and is put inline with other rulings. Now that “ cause” is no longer a reason, even under immediate scrutiny, the government’s need for bank statements would not pass muster. The licensing officer has no need to know how much money you carry or take to the bank anymore. Watch New York lose the social media argument too, but maybe , not in the first round of the challenge. But based on prior rulings , they will lose.

Sure, some rural counties may choose to no longer enforce the bank account, Good Guy Letter, and other requirements. But you can be sure that NYC, Buffalo, Rochester, Binghamton, Syracuse, Albany, Nassau County, Poughkeepsie, Westchester County, Rockland County still will.

In much of NY you cannot even apply for a premise or business license. If you try you will just be given a full carry anyway.

Ok, I forget about NYC's silly premise permits that aren't CCW etc. But you still need permission of some sort from NY to buy a handgun. That's just straight up wrong. And that was not addressed in the Bruen case. It did not uphold as constitutional needing a permit of some sort to buy a handgun in NY.
Bruen was ruled unconstitutional under the equal protection of the law of the 14th amendment. The case did not challenge the need for licenses but that they were not issued equally from County to County, Judge to Judge.
