A little information about the general location of the mall. On another forum, I was reading that the area is heavily conservative, kind of redneckish. Lots of gun owners, not all that uncommon for someone to be open carrying.

And IIRC last month Indiana went to a permitless carry. Before that, a permit was required but it was easy to acquire and cost something like $120.

I got this information from the people posting on that forum that either live in that county or are familiar with it. One local resident of the area said that if someone was going to do something like this. To do it in that area, is a bad idea because there are so many concealed carriers.

IMO this scenario did not go as planned. Darn CCW holder. So what are the chances of another shooting situation occurring before the house AWB vote. Another big shooting is what will be needed to bring the Rinos across the aisle. :hookah:

Actually, it is a complete repudiation of the "gun laws prevent crimes" doctrine incorrectly forced upon the law-abiding general public by liberal progressive Democrats. A person intent on murder will not be dissuaded by any laws or signs because they have already hardened their heart and plan to engage a wholly egregious, and illegal, act. Such a person cannot be deterred. They can only be stopped once they set their horrific plan into action. An active shooter (read: murderer) can most effective be stopped with the judicious use of a firearm by a trained, law-abiding, person. Police can do so...if they choose. As we know, police are under an ethical, but not legal, obligation to protect people. Whole teams of professionally trained police officers failed to save elementary school students from being slaughtered in Uvalde, Texas. Why would anyone want to rely on off-site assistance from officers who may not intervene? And, even if they do, the evil person with a gun will wreak havoc among unarmed civilians in a crowed venue such as a mall until that help arrives.

Leftists live in world that they wish exists. They indignantly profess, "We don't want anyone to have guns." Well...that is just not realistic.

Conservatives and constitutionalists live in the real world. They know that criminals engage in criminal acts...because they are criminals. The best that we can do is avoid being where the criminals are, avoid conflict through escape when feasible, and to be prepared to stop the criminals if we have to.

The liberal progressives seek to protect the general population with hopes and wishes while they protect themselves with armed guards. That is pure hypocrisy and they must be called out on it.

Private businesses may restrict or forbid firearms on their properties. However, signs prohibiting concealed weapons in private businesses do not have force of law in Indiana, although refusing to leave such a place for carrying a weapon, if requested by the property owner, would constitute trespassing. However, a 2010 law prohibits employers from discharging employees for in-vehicle firearms possession on business property.[11] Furthermore, an employer may not ask any employee about the possession of firearms and/or ammunition.[12]

There's video news coverage that I can't get to embed. First 3 minutes cover Greenwood followed by 9 minutes on Uvalde, that is critical of the response. Contrasting them side-by-side - one legally armed CCW vs. almost 400 LEOs (no offense to our LEOs here) and the outcomes, anyone with half brain would see the problem with gun laws and gun free zones. The left still won't get it and see the virtue in allowing the public to take care of itself.
