3 of 4 NRA board members that have been calling for an independent audit of the NRA have just resigned today Aug 1st.

The LaPierre lackeys have been doing their best to intimidate and silence anyone who speaks out against WLP and it has appeared to have been effective

This right here.. I've spoken with Knight personally, he does believe in the NRA but the NRA that people think of when they think NRA and 2A not LaPierres's personal bank account. And is very pro 2A

It was my understanding that NRA board members were completely irrelevant, having no power or influence of any kind on the course or operation of the organization. It was my further understanding that existing board members were there for one of two reasons: Naivete or to belly up to the pork barrel.

From my understanding Ted Nuget hasn't gone to a board meeting in YEARS yet is still on. Most organizations have rules where if you have over a certain number of unexcused absences you get kicked off. I'm a member of a Board of Directors for an organization that has such a rule and I know a lot of others that do too. NRA certainly isn't following it's own rules.

Point of order - and confusion -
Life Members (like me) don't pay any dues once the membership is bought.

And that's what confuses me - they've been *giving* life memberships away for the past few years. I bought mine for like $150 a half decade ago, and they sent me about $25 with of junk for it (hat, jacket, knife) . After what they spend in admin and mailings, that means they got about $100 total out of me, total, for the next 40 years if I live that long.

What are yearly membership dues? Why the fire sale on life memberships? And endowment memberships, for that matter?

Lot of lost money. Makes me go, "Hmmmm."

Because many of those life members donate far more than whatever the annual dues would be every time Debbie from Oklahoma calls asking for money.

Life and Endowment are expensive - if I'm going to donate, why keep offering it at trailer-trash pricing?
