John Wayne did usually use 30-30 if I’m correctI have an OLDER Marlin 336, in 30-30 and love that rifle. There is just something "old school" about shooting lever guns. They make me embrace my inner John Wayne.
Thought it was 44/40. I could be wrong. Marlin 336 great choice for lever gun.John Wayne did usually use 30-30 if I’m correct

Interesting. I love my Henry 22. What don't you like?I'd go with a marlin over the Henry. I have a Henry .22 and I'm honestly not very impressed.
I like both Win 94 and the Marlin 336, both fine levers, the 94 is much lighter to carry. Cannot top scope the 94 though.

Still want that 45-70 BFR.Revolver
you and me bothStill want that 45-70 BFR.
Henry's are nice rifles, but I don't care for the tube loading vs. the loading gate on the Marlin & Winchesters.
