I go places during the week for various reasons, mostly to see family.........Rod and Gun, bbqs, AmVets, Legion........
When we are there I see, talk to many people and overhear many conversations.
These people are "normal" people.....teachers, coaches, business owners, plummers, doctors........you all know the type of people hanging put at these places.
Over the last 1.5 years I have heard more racism than Ive heard in my life.
These people are not Nazis or the clan, just fed up.
I keep hearing....."these blacks, these trans, these mexicans, these ISIS, these Muslims, the college kids........they are destroying this country."
I dont believe these people think they are being racist, just realists.
The rioting, the looting and the violence is the topic of their conversations. These are not all silver hairs but 30s, 40s and 50s, regular suburbanites.
My point is, these violent history erasers are doing the exact opposite of what they believe they are doing.
In their tiny worlds they believe they are the majority, when in fact, they are in the extreme minority.
Time will tell but I sure hope the silent majority wakes up and demands law and order.
It wont come from the politicians, it has to be us, the majority.

I will add, many of the people I hear from are Regan Democrats, moderate Repub/Dems and Independents.

There is a huge difference between being a Racist and a Realist. Most of the people that I know would consider themselves to be Realists. They see life in America for what it is. They see life through very Plain and Simple eyes.

Most of Regular People are just fed up. They are fed up with everything. Welfare, crime, injustices, illegal immigration, benefits being paid out to the unworthy. Seems like everything bad is on the rise. Again, people are just tired of all of it.

Taking down these monuments of our history will only inflame people. People who before this destruction became popular, would have never given a thought to the monuments.

I think you are correct. These antifa/left wing protesters are going to have people sympathize with the nazi protesters because they are appalled at their behavior. I don't see how this ends well.

Putin, the chinese and even ISIS must be watching CNN and laughing their asses off. We are doing more damage to ourselves than they could.

If this trend is going to become the new norm, I expect widespread disobedience of concealed carry regulations (among others...SAFE for one), from people who are otherwise perfectly law abiding folks. Hell, the criminals (another glorified and protected class) don't care...

What's America going to do when it realizes their beloved "Honest Abe" defended the Fugitive Slave Act, didn't "free the slaves", and was in fact a first class BIGOT of ages?

Contrary to what we were all sold in school, the issue of slavery was not a contested one in the mid 19th century America. Abolitionists were a TINY fraction of the population, they were outliers and HIGHLY marginalized from the political consensus.

Men of honor like Robert E. Lee didn't take up arms against a tyrant without good cause, Lincoln broke the terms of the Constitution, and secession was what you get when the contract was voided.

Somehow the VOLUNTARY union of the states was lost in weeds when "historians" set about concocting the Lincoln Myth, and to my disgust, they've done a helluva job successfully selling a huge lie to the masses.

The Former Slave Masters discovered they could PAY FREE MEN so little money, that they were actually CHEAPER than Slaves that had to be bought and maintained.

As well as the fact that the IRISH fleeing Famine could be readily imported to work at any number of jobs; who would work for little more than some food to fill their bellies. And the IRISH were thrilled to be here !

A black former Dallas city councilwoman joined with Confederate history organizations to oppose the tearing down of statues honoring the historical figures from the past.

Former Dallas city councilwoman Sandra Crenshaw told a local CBS reporter, “I’m not intimidated by Robert E. Lee’s statue. I’m not intimidated by it. It doesn’t scare me.”

“We don’t want America to think that all African Americans are supportive of this,” Crenshaw said. She expressed that she believes the thoughts of those wanting to tear down these statues are “misguided.”
