Contrary to what we were all sold in school, the issue of slavery was not a contested one in the mid 19th century America. Abolitionists were a TINY fraction of the population, they were outliers and HIGHLY marginalized from the political consensus.
Men of honor like Robert E. Lee didn't take up arms against a tyrant without good cause, Lincoln broke the terms of the Constitution, and secession was what you get when the contract was voided.
Somehow the VOLUNTARY union of the states was lost in weeds when "historians" set about concocting the Lincoln Myth, and to my disgust, they've done a helluva job successfully selling a huge lie to the masses.

Well, I had no idea the Confederates Statues are LIONIZED.
I thought all the statues were roughly the same size, and evenly spaced.
But according to the Dems the Confederate Statues are LIONIZED. So obviously they are larger, higher, placed in more visible locations, perhaps Gold Plated.
And that is so wrong !

(a)
Whoever, in a circumstance described in subsection (b), willfully injures or destroys, or attempts to injure or destroy, any structure, plaque, statue, or other monument on public property commemorating the service of any person or persons in the armed forces of the United States shall be fined under this title, imprisoned not more than 10 years, or both.
(b) A circumstance described in this subsection is that—
(1)
in committing the offense described in subsection (a), the defendant travels or causes another to travel in interstate or foreign commerce, or uses the mail or an instrumentality of interstate or foreign commerce; or
(2)
the structure, plaque, statue, or other monument described in subsection (a) is located on property owned by, or under the jurisdiction of, the Federal Government.
