5 Police Officers Shot In Houston

HOUSTON (CBSDFW.COM) – Houston Police confirm to CBS 11 a total of five Houston Police officers were shot Monday afternoon reportedly while serving a narcotics warrant.

Houston Police Officers Union President Joe Gambaldi tweeted, “We currently have 5 officers shot, all on their way to the hospital. One is being life flighted. On the way to the hospital, will update when I can.”

Not for nothing, but what are these old men in their mid 50’s busting through doors on a drug raid. Sounds like a set up, bad intel, or poor planning. Whatever it is they didn’t deserve this and they are right this is bullshit and Obama and the democrats are to blame.

Still, shouldn't it be swat or a narcotics unit doing a raid? Don't know all the details, but I wouldn't think they would send Joe- cop.

Like you said earlier, may have been poor intelligence. They may have thought this was just a basic drug warrant. Nothing huge or out of the ordinary.

According to the warrant obtained exclusively by ABC13, police believed the occupants were selling heroin out of the home, based on a tip from a confidential informant.

After a 54-year-old officer, the lead investigator on the case, broke open the front door, a 33-year-old officer armed with a shotgun entered the residence and was immediately attacked by a pit bull, Acevedo said.
He said that the officer being attacked shot and killed the dog.One of the suspects, Tuttle, charged from the back of the house firing a .357-caliber Magnum revolver at the officer, hitting him in the shoulder.

All of the officers involved are undercover narcotics officers. Their names will not be released.

I just saw your addition. I'll disregard the insult. You are deliberately misunderstanding the friends part for whatever reason only known to yourself.

In case you aren't and perhaps are a little confused and really didn't understand the reference, it's not that I think the people killed are my friends or that I think the cops are your friends. With that out of the way, the friends reference was in regards to the other thread which you are well aware of that says that the police aren't your friends.

If you watch the above video which I'm pretty sure you didn't, you would see that the man killed thought the police were his friends. He liked blue line groups and his local police on social media.

Read the comments. There are people giving other examples of this happening in their respected states that haven't made the news. One guy was charged with capitol murder because he killed a cop who got the address wrong who no knocked his house. He's still in jail awaiting execution.

First, the Houston cop that lied needs to be charged with two counts of murder and five counts of assault with a deadly weapon.
Second, no knock warrants gotta go.
Third, the thin blue line is serving to keep law enforcement members from holding each other accountable.

I'm in Houston and this really pisses me off. One thing I heard was that they raided a house on Harding street when they might have been wanting to go to a house on Hardy street. No knock raids are dangerous to everyone, cops and the people in the house and this just goes to show it. The neighborhood this hapened in is supposed to be a place where thugs have been known to dress up as cops to do hits on people, so the couple in the house had a legitimate reason to fear they were about to be murdered. It's quite natural that they would fire back.

The police chief, Art Acevedo, is using this as an excuse to promote his gun grabbing views, of course, saying that the problem is that people who aren't cops have guns.

Acevedo said. "So, we know already there's a crime that's been committed. A high probability there will be a criminal charge."

Acevedo said his department's investigation has yet to determine what charges Goines could face.

The other 4 involved at a minimum should see assault with a deadly weapon, prefer to see murder 2 or manslaughter though..

I cant see why in the world a 30 year detective would intentionally lie to harm innocent people .
That doesn't make any sense to me. The guy is ready to retire. What does make sense is that he made a mistake In which two people were killed and multiple officers shot and the dept. Threw him under the bus.
