Not to turn this into another police bashing thread but, if the police as a whole wanted to better this country, they would let us do our jobs and defend ourselves . Instead they arrest the Proud Boys and similar groups. All they have to do is make pretend and let us get away. Depends on what they have to do to accomplish that.
I am not a fan of martial law, or curfews, or stopping people and asking to "see their papers" or a lot of other popular and effective tactics.
We don't need a police state. What we need is to continue exercising our right to self defense.
We also need an absence of left wing DAs scoring political points by prosecuting citizens for exercising their rights. In fact we need a whole lot less left wing period. If the left really wants to provide the motivation to the hand wringing sideline sitters to pull their heads out of the sand and finally do what needs to be done this Nation would be much better off once the dust settles.

Incidentally, while I am a big states rights guy there is an awful good case for the feds stepping into some of these things and bringing cases.
I hear a lot about "the government should be afraid of the people"- you're seeing it in Portland, Oakland, Seattle- "the people" here, unfortunately, being people you disagree with (as do I).
These dickheads should be prosecuted to the fullest. And if the locals aren't willing to do it, I see plenty of federal laws on the books that apply.
