I emailed Foxtrot Mike. We'll see what I get back. One thing I thought odd was that the Foxtrot Mike bolt Brownells sells isn't the same as the one on Foxtrot Mike's Website. It is still Foxtrot Mike, but it would appear that maybe my bolt is an older model. I will talk to Brownells about it too.

The one on their Website looks lime it has more material cut away in the middle.
Anyhow, I've never sent a rifle to someone. How do I go about doing that? Can't use USPS right?

Yes. You can ship a rifle usps. Just wrap it and send it. No outside info on package.

Your bolt should be machined like the one on the right to clear the Glock magazine feed lips. Even if it’s not it should only hang up with a mag in the lower. Did you fully assemble the bolt stop or just do a mock up? I would install it completely if you haven’t yet.

I fully installed the AR bolt stop. The arm on the lower that lifts the bolt stop was factory installed. I'll have to look at the bolt when I get home. I can't recall if it has the groove machined out or not but the bolt IS supposed to be for Glocks. I did notice however, and this may be telling me that groove isn't there, that when I removed the AR bolt stop the bolt would go back into the buffer tube but coming into battery it would hit and stop against the back of the magazine feed lips if one was inserted. It was an empty mag to be clear.

Also, so far I have to give props to Foxtrot Mike. I emailed them last night about this issue and not 20 minutes later I got a call, text and email back from Paul at Foxtrot Mike telling me to call his direct cell anytime and that they will get me squared away. I've never had a manufacturer get back to me that fast, lol. It seems like they really care. I didn't answer because I wasn't sure who it was and it was late anyway, but I will be calling later today to speak with him and see what we can do. My hunch now @GUNSICK is that groove isn't cut. Perhaps it slipped by QA...

I thought you needed to use a 308 spring?
Anyway, I'm gonna speak with Foxtrot Mike later today and see if there is an issue with the bolt. If they can't fix the issue I'll be packing the rifle up and sending it to you @Bullet Guy.

I can get the catch to sit where it should in order for it to sit flush for the bolt, but the holes on the receiver and the catch don't line up. View attachment 23624
This is how it sits with the pin for the catch lined up. The little "finger" on the catch ends up sitting on top of the little knub of the U shaped bar and so the catch sticks up.

You know the set screw for the bolt catch is backed out in this picture, no?

Yes I know. I took that just to show where the catch sits when lined up. I had everything assembled when this problem happened. I was taking pics as I was trying to figure the problem out. Didn't mean to add to the confusion, lol.

So from what I can see in your pics, the little finger on the catch, sits almost to one side of that nub on the U bar. When I had mine fully in place that finger was right on top of that nub.

Spoke with Paul at Foxtrot Mike. He is sending out another bolt for me to try and we'll go from there. He seemed like a good dude and that he wants my rifle to work properly and is willing to work with me to make it right. So far, I'm very impressed by the customer service from FM!

So, I haven't heard from Paul at FM since last Wednesday. I would assume that after how adamant he was about making it right, he would have followed through and sent out what he said he was going to (maybe he did, but he mentioned giving me a tracking number which hasn't happened). I'm trying to be patient, but I feel like I should have a build that functions by now. The FM bolt is advertised as working with dedicated Glock lowers "ONLY". No such claim is made by the makers of my dedicated Glock lower. I shouldn't have to modify anything. So here I am stuck with an inoperable build, waiting to see if this guy is going to make good. I HATE being a pushy consumer, but I also hate being given the run around and my patients is running out.

That will be next. Emailed him last night and heard back today. If I don't get a replacement bolt this week, I'll most likely return the bolt and either just send you the rifle to fit with one of your bolts @Bullet Guy or just buy one from you. If it's all the same to you I'd probably prefer to send you everything in case there ends up being an issue.

Well, brought my carbine to @Bullet Guy today instead of mailing it. Had it outfitted with a different bolt and spring. No issues with the bolt, it cycled perfectly no hang ups on the bolt catch like with the FM9. We took it out back and test fired it to make sure it cycled and was stopped properly. Bullet guy, I think that G17 10 rounder is worn. All of my mags G19 and G23 lock the bolt back and don't release it no matter how hard you smack it. Very happy to finally have a functioning carbine! Thanks Bullet guy. Now if you could only tell @GUNSICK that the display wall at your shop isn't a truck stop bathroom glory hole. It's off putting. Really.
Anyhoo, all I need next is a front BUIS and to save up for that Holosun!

The bolt I originally bought, the FM-9 bolt, had too much material on the ramped part under the firing pin. The bolt would bind up on the bolt catch and not cycle.

Finally got the carbine out to the range. WOW! So much fun. Ran around 200 rounds through with only one ftf (feed) and that was using one of my G23 40 S&W mags. Last round bolt hold open worked about 75% of the time. I do think it has to do with the 10 round Mags. It isn't something that really bothers me too much anyway. I had my Primary Arms red dot on there and it was nearly spot on right off the bat. So much so I didn't bother to make any adjustments today. The groupings were great. I did have to adjust my buis a bit though. This wasn't a serious sight in session but rather a shake down. I ran Gecco, Winchester and wolf steel cased through it. It ate everything with only that one ftf which was with brass cased ammo and like I said it was while using the G23 mag with the 9mm. @Bullet Guy 's extended trigger guard was key for comfort. The kick isn't much but it is somehow harsher than 223 and with the design of the Thordsen was uncomfortable at times.
Overall first impressions are that I made the right choice by investing in this build. I know there are reservations by some about the usefulness of a PCC, but I am optimistic about it and can't wait for nicer weather to see what more this carbine can do. I really like the idea of having a rifle and pistol that use the same ammo and magazines. While my pistol is a 40 S&W and this carbine is 9mm, I have a 9mm conversion barrel for the pistol. I may however, look into building a 40 S&W upper for this carbine. In any case, for anyone interested in building a PCC, I recommend you do so. It may be frustrating at times but it is worth it.
