Have you actually read the factory literature for "most" modern pistols? Because unless there is documentation which explicitly states a +P rating, the firearm is in fact NOT rated for that cartridge.

Go refer to the SAAMI booklet (which you actually referenced in our last back-and-forth) and tell me what the established max average pressure is for each cartridge (9mm and 9mm +P).

A pistol that is rated for 9mm is rated for 9mm-like chamber pressures.

Last time we had this conversation, I provided an excerpt from Glock's website which stated very clearly that just because certain pistols are rated for 9mm DOESN'T mean they are necessarily rated for +P and +P+.

Who here is arguing that they have the same chamber pressure? Stay on topic here. Go find me 9mm guns that aren’t rated for +P so that I can stay away from those inferior firearms. I mean why would I buy a gun that isn’t +P rated if I want to shoot +P? That wouldn’t make any sense. You are arguing nonsense.

Just an anecdote but the literature that came with my Sig p320c states the firearm can shoot +p ammo, but that the higher pressures will cause additional wear and tear and thus accelerate the need for maintenance. It explicitly states NOT to shoot +p+ through it.

Just 1 SF handgun out of the 100s of common ones out there but take that for what it’s woryh

They pretty much all shoot +P’s except for maybe 70’s or 80’s 9mm’s and a few here and there today. But I do not understand his argument. If you wanted to shoot a +P Hard Cast round, just make sure you buy a gun that can shoot it. Who here would want to buy a 9mm carry that cannot shoot +P anyway?
