Nope, I left it plain for a reason.
And my reason remains simple: First in Line
Should not matter if it's my daughter, or Pelosi's.
Or anything else.
Awarding on age ?
Then 15 trumps 16, right ?

You wanted a spirited discussion, you got it.
But please understand I am in no way angry with you, or anyone who disagrees with me.
Adults can discuss difficult issues without melting down.
That is somewhat of an easy question. Life is rarely that easy. Same situation but this time the choice is between a 45 year old overweight chain smoker and a 63 year old with diabetes. Who gets it then?I see it very differently. I think giving the organ to the 90 year old is a bit of a waste. I know, cold and heartless....

In our world right now the one with the best health insurance package (i.e. most generous) would probably get it.
Heated debate with intelligent and well informed opponents is one of the best ways to sharpen your intellect.I live for heated debates. I think it brings the best out most people.
Hell, I have not even given my opinion yet on the original question.

Living in an echo chamber is a shortcut to a brain full of mush.

Organs in our current system are doled out by panels of doctors. Money can't change hands. That is somewhat of an easy question. Life is rarely that easy. Same situation but this time the choice is between a 45 year old overweight chain smoker and a 63 year old with diabetes. Who gets it then?

People are very protective of their echo chambers. An "Echo Chamber" is better than "Howling off a Cliff", in a vain attempt to educate idiots who can't hear any alternative views.
And I don't mean anyone here. People here are the best people I know.
HARTHEIM CASTLE EUTHANASIA KILLING CENTER
Hartheim castle, a euthanasia killing center where people with physical and mental disabilities were killed by gassing and lethal injection. Hartheim, Austria, date uncertain.

A society should be judged on how it treats its weakest citizens, born and unborn.
OK, I read the entire thread and then came back to this entry...No, I do not think so. I am about as Conservative as they come and some of this I agree with. This is why, I do not think this is a political thing.
Abortion, end of life and the like are in a sense a reality thing.
I'll give you an example of my thinking, and ask you to decide....
Two people need an organ transplant. Only one organ is available. First patient is a 90 year old man, second patient is a 15 year old boy. Based on only what is front of you, you gets the transplant and why?
Babies at birth deemed imperfect were commonly killed by every culture, race, and ethnicity around the world, as far as I can figure all the way into the twentieth century. A community depended on the able-bodied to survive and had precious few assets for those that couldn't help and even those that wouldn't help. We live with many luxuries that are taken for granted, one of them is not having to make decisions like that. I have no use for pseudo-virtuous chest pounders that demand other people see the world as they do.
I dislike this line of reasoning. The parents of those children are responsible, not the country at large. I don't care for the "it takes a village to raise a child" train of thought. I am responsible for my children. I have one I will probably be caring for or financially supporting for many years if not decades. I neither expect nor require any assistance. This is my responsibility.Agreed!!! As a country we are not doing a good job...
2.5 million homeless children
14 million children not getting enough to eat

I can answer that, again, comes of cold and heartless, but...I too take responsibility of taking care of my child, but what about the 15 million children in this country not being taken care of? Not your problem, I get it...

Not my responsibility. I have enough responsibility to me, my family and my career.
