I always keep the registration and the insurance card in the visor document strap. That is what it is for. There was a book that came out in the early 90s that was written by a retired NYS Trooper. It pretty much told people the best things to do at a traffic stop. I lost my copy years ago and forgot the title but it was a wealth of knowledge.
Most of the things i remember and still l do came from stuff like in the book like "It is called a glovebox not a document box, keep your car clean, keep your hands on the steering wheel, put your document COPIES in the visor document holder, tell the officer what you are doing before doing it, don't lie but don't give information not asked for, have the dome light on if it is a nighttime stop before the officer gets to your window, always answer I don't know why you pulled me over when asked why did i pull you over."
Should be common sense right...
Common sense is just not common though.
