25 yards, standing, unsupported, with a red dot. The main group is 17 shots. Winchester White Box 145gr FMJ

I need to get to the range where I can put it on a bench and go to 50 and 100 yards.

Right now, I can only get 25 yards in the side yard and no bench

I will be getting a 10.5 barrel. Best place to get a barrel, that is still basically budget friendly.

Any thoughts on Bear Creek barrels? A few guys locally told me to shop there as well. I heard the are lower on the scale of good barrels.

Anderson also makes barrels. Not sure if they go to 10.5 but it is worth a look. The most accurate AR308 I own has an Anderson 20” barrel.

I've bought and built several KAK barrels and been very pleased with accuracy and quality...I did have an issue with the chamber of a .358 but cured that myself. (they did offer to replace it if I wasn't satisfied)

I like the looks of their colored parts. I have a vision of what I want to do with this build, so far, this is the only company that I have found that sells Cerakote painted, pieces and parts....

I am keeping it 5.56, just for ease....

I have been in conversation with another member here in regards to the suppressor part of it.

I am to the point that I know what I want, now, finding the parts and the colors that I want.

I am in the process of doing a retro build. Trying to build an M16A2 clone as close as possible. Got a "Property of U.S Govt M16A2" stamped receiver with "Safe, Semi, Burst" selector print. Next is upper config...plenty of A2 style uppers to choose from (fixed carry handle). Gotta have the M16 style foregrip and front sight. I have been eyeing an H&R complete M16 style upper with a 20" FN barrel. I guess they are just PSA built with H&R stampings. I would still change some things about it to have better authenticity. Choices, choices, choices.

From what I hear the PSA built are really good retro copy stuff. I believe they bought out Nodak Spud and use there tooling. They made really good stuff for both the AK and AR/M16 platforms. I believe it was the NDS-603 for the M16A1 retro receiver.

Don’t know if a gentleman named Harlan of Nodak Spud went to the new company, but he would be the guy to talk to. He would always bend over backwards to get you the serial numbering you wanted, engraving, legality info and all that stuff. Very knowledgeable about his products. It would have been wise to bring him to PSA.
